Early Afghanistan was known as Ariana,Starting
1st to 5th Century.
Later it become Khorasan and finally changed to
Afghanistan.
The Capital of Afghanistan was Qandahar and
then was changed to Kabul City.
Buddhisim was one of the major religions in
Afghanistan in pre-Islam era.

and external conflicts.
Two wars with the United Kingdom in the
1800s.
Invasion by the Soviet Union in 1979.
Since the Soviets left in 1989, Afghanistan has
experienced many internal conflicts over control
of the country.

Afghanistan share borders with 7 countries,

Economy of Afghanistan had Improved since
2002 with the infusion of billions of dollar in

The improvement was also due to the

clothing usually includes Shalwar ,
Kameez (dress), Lungee, (Turban),
Qaraqul, Pakol, Chapan (coat).

classical trained musicians from northern
India.
Afghan music is complicated and it has

Education in Afghanistan includes
kindergarten (1-4 years old) (4-6 years
old), Primary school (7-12 Years old),
secondary school (13-18 years old) and
then higher education.
There are two different education
ministries , Ministry of Education and
Ministry of Higher education.

restricted the education for young girls and
the Madrassa and Masjid become the
primary and secondary source of education
for girls, however they are now working on
a new system to allow girls and boys study
separately.
