MA students must complete coursework within 4 semesters and the entire program, including thesis defense, within 6 semesters. Students receiving monthly stipends must finish coursework within 2 semesters. All incoming international students must have advanced Turkish proficiency. Students must register for a minimum number of credits each semester and choose a thesis advisor in their first semester of coursework. After completing the first two semesters, students must submit a thesis proposal. The thesis is worth 60 credits and students must register for thesis seminars each year during the thesis period. To graduate, students must submit bound copies of their thesis along with required forms.
2. In order to continue remaining in the MA program,
All MA students must finish their coursework within a
maximum of 4 semesters.
The course period and the thesis defense together must be
completed within 6 semesters.
The MA students receiving monthly assistantship stipends
from ACI have to successfully complete their coursework in a
maximum of 2 semesters.
Note: The extension of the maximum duration for MA
completion beyond 6 semesters is legally impossible. Please
refer to: Yüksek Ö retim Kanunu 2547/44ğ
3. ACI requires all incoming international
MA and PhD students to have C1-Level
(Advanced) Turkish proficiency in order
to start the course year.
Students who lack the desired level of
proficiency in Turkish will have to
complete a year-long Turkish preparatory
course.
4. First semester ACI MA students are obliged to
register for a minimum of 42 ECTS/15 credit
hours of classes offered at the Institute. (ECTS:
European Credit Transfer System)
Note: Students will complete their class
registration on
the online student services portal after logging
in with their student usernames and
passwords.
5. Students are required to register for a minimum of
39ECTS/12 credit hours of classes offered at the
Institute.
Students are further required to choose their thesis
advisors and submit the thesis advisor selection form
to the Institute at the beginning of the semester.
Note: Students will complete their class registration on
the online student services portal after logging in with
their student usernames and passwords.
6. 1. The students who have successfully
completed their 1st
and 2nd
course
semesters will have to submit their thesis
proposal form to the Institute at the end of
the 2nd
course semester.
2. Master students are required to officially
register for the "Seminar" Course in their
2nd semester. Those who have not taken
the "Seminar" Course will have to take it
before the completion of the program.
7. Students, who have had their thesis
proposals approved will start conducting
their thesis research by registering for the
thesis seminar course opened in the name
of their thesis advisors.
The thesis course is worth 60 ECTS points.
8. Students will complete their course
registration by registering for the thesis
seminar course at the beginning of each
academic year during their thesis period.
When the thesis advisor of a student judges
his/her thesis to be complete, the student
will submit the thesis submission and thesis
defense jury suggestions form to the
Institute.
9. The student will submit spiral-bound copies of
his/her thesis manuscript to the whole thesis jury,
including the potential replacement members. The
thesis defence is then done 10 days after the
submission of the manuscript within 20 days.
The student, who has had his/her final thesis
manuscript accepted should submit his/her bound
thesis manuscript alongside with the required
graduation documentation and the thesis submission
and graduation form to the Institute to initiate
his/her graduation process. The student must
submit a plagiarism-check form alongside the
spiral-bound thesis manuscript.
10. The student will submit spiral-bound copies of
his/her thesis manuscript to the whole thesis jury,
including the potential replacement members. The
thesis defence is then done 10 days after the
submission of the manuscript within 20 days.
The student, who has had his/her final thesis
manuscript accepted should submit his/her bound
thesis manuscript alongside with the required
graduation documentation and the thesis submission
and graduation form to the Institute to initiate
his/her graduation process. The student must
submit a plagiarism-check form alongside the
spiral-bound thesis manuscript.
