1/ Literacy program:
 Goal
 The primary school children will be
independent readers.
 Objectives:
 Improve Bangla Reading Skills of primary
school children.
 Innovate ways to reinforce effective
Bengali Language teaching learning in‐
government or government supported
primary schools.

primary school students irrespective of
their gender and focuses on the need of
learning skill development among the
students so that reading habit can be
promoted amongst them.
Through this programe room to read
provide necessary training and materials to
the teachers .
Improve the reading habit of primary
2) Girls education program:
 Objectives:
  The GEP is aimed at the secondary
school girl students who are very
vulnerable group most often coming to
school they drop out in the rural areas of
Bangladesh.
  The aim is to get the girls in the
secondary school to at least pass HSC by
providing them with necessary supports
3) Book publishing in Bangali
language:
  Room to read publishes books in
Bengali language which keeps a coherence
with psychology and temperament of the
students.
  The books are carefully written making
compatible with the students age
,intelligence and literacy of the students
  The books are colorfully illustrated.

 Namti pakhir tuntuni
Patar gari
Doyel o jonaki etc.
5) Classroom library activities
in Govt. primary schools:
 objectives: to ensure that more primary
school children become independent
readers.
 Services: 2325 classes in 465 schools have
been established.
 Activities: training of teachers, monitoring
and support strategy,establishing libraries
and library management.

  • 37. 1/ Literacy program:  Goal  The primary school children will be independent readers.  Objectives:  Improve Bangla Reading Skills of primary school children.  Innovate ways to reinforce effective Bengali Language teaching learning in‐ government or government supported primary schools.

CONT…. literacy program is designed for the primary school students irrespective of their gender and focuses on the need of learning skill development among the students so that reading habit can be promoted amongst them. Through this programe room to read provide necessary training and materials to the teachers . Improve the reading habit of primary
  • 39. 2) Girls education program:  Objectives:   The GEP is aimed at the secondary school girl students who are very vulnerable group most often coming to school they drop out in the rural areas of Bangladesh.   The aim is to get the girls in the secondary school to at least pass HSC by providing them with necessary supports

  • 41. 3) Book publishing in Bangali language:   Room to read publishes books in Bengali language which keeps a coherence with psychology and temperament of the students.   The books are carefully written making compatible with the students age ,intelligence and literacy of the students   The books are colorfully illustrated.

  • 43. 5) Classroom library activities in Govt. primary schools:  objectives: to ensure that more primary school children become independent readers.  Services: 2325 classes in 465 schools have been established.  Activities: training of teachers, monitoring and support strategy,establishing libraries and library management.

  • 46. 7) Lesson to be learnt:  Teachers, mentors and successful older peers are highly influential in forming secondary and tertiary education.  Close collaboration is critical to ensure that Room to Read is producing high quality work, especially among literacy experts, librarians and teachers, writers and illustrators, and government officials.  The process of sustainability is another lesson which could be applicable for our education system.
