1. Introducing CareMobile ®
barcode technology,
one more way VVMC is implementing technology
to increase patient safety
Starting in November 2010, all VVMC patient identification
bracelets will contain a new, 2 dimensional square barcode.
These barcodes will be scanned by our nursing staff using
hand held, wireless barcode scanners. The scanners allow
the nurses to confirm the medications being administered.
CareMobile will first be launched on our inpatient units:
Woman’s and Children’s Center, the Patient Care Unit, and
the Intensive Care Unit.
The launch of CareMobile® builds VVMC’s commitment to
remaining on the leading edge of technological innovation.
