4. Tourism Area Integrated Development Unit
Local Government & C&W Department has been requested to provide detail cost
estimates for Beautification of Chitral, Kalam and Naran (Replicating Galiyat
Model) & Internal Roads respectively.
GDA MODEL
Institutional Development:
This includes institutional restructuring, amendments in laws/by- laws,
development of land record system, M&E mechanism, and Master Planning
of selected areas.
Infrastructure Development:
This sub-component includes urban development, beautification & uplifting
of rest areas/bazaar/parks/ internal roads, setting up of flower market,
food courts etc.

Cost Estimates for Sewerage / Sanitation of Kalam (58 M) and
Naran (18 M) received.
Cost Estimates (Rs. 723 M) for up-gradation of internal roads of
Kalam received.
PC-II of rehabilitation of Sheikh Badin road approved.
By appreciating efforts of Tourism Department World Bank has
agreed for cooperation in preparing master plans for Chitral,
Kalam, Naran and Sheikh Badin.
World Bank has also committed to provide 1000 Benches & 1000
Dust Bins to different districts for “Tourism Facilitation” by next
month.
