PRODUCTION LOG
Filming Date - Monday 26th
January 2015
What we did today was that we had to film our trailer. We decided that
instead of doing it day by day we thought it would be best if we filmed all our
trailer scenes today. This way it would prevent us from being able to come, this
means that because we would be too busy doing school work or other things
then why not take the time today top finish all our scenes. However, because
our scenes were quite short it didn’t have to take more than five days. All we
needed was the dark sky so we get the natural dark lighting of the window
scene where the ‘hoodie guy was at’.
The reason why we had to film our trailer today was because it was our last
week to film as we were behind on schedule and running out of time. We also
had to wait until the sky went dark.
The impact it had on us was that we had to try and get the shots right without
messing up which did lead to some of our clips being not recorded or deleted.
The role I was personally responsiblefor was the lighting. This meant that I had
to see whether or not the lighting of the filming was good or bad. Because this
was my first time being in charge of lighting it was a bit of struggle but then I
realised that the lighting is really important as the audience would like to see
how well or not the film trailer would be and if it would look like an actual
trailer. Having the role of being the lighting person, I think it is just as
important as being the director because without the right lighting, the filming
of the trailer would go terribly wrong. This meant that someone had to be in
charge and that person was me.
The purpose of this was that we had to wait until the sun set then we could
film the outside part of the ‘hoodie guy’. We also had to go to one of the
“character’s “house that had a small bedroom with dim lighting, which wasn’t
too bright or dark.
The effect it had on us was that it we didn’t have enough male actors to go for
our ‘hoodie guy’ role. We then decided to try a girl and a boy to wear a hoodie
to see if our ‘hoodie guy’ would look possible. We then finally decided the
male to go ahead with that specific character.

Time of filming Scenes (What you did)
12:10pm ClassroomScene:
The library scene was filmed in schoolduring period
4, which was at 12:10pm. Wecouldn’tdo it any
other time becausewe needed to use the library to
film our classroomscene.
The sun started
to set
approximately
around 5:00pm.
Window Scene:
The reason we had to wait for the sun to go down
was that we needed our hoodie person too look
scary, which meant that we couldn’t see their face
properly apartfrom their noseor mouth.
5:15pm Typing ‘Missing People’:
This scene took us 15 minutes to film because what
we had to do was to film the part wheresomeone
types in ‘missing people’ the reason why it took long
was that we had to film the same scenes a few
times.
5:45pm Comparing School Picture toImage on Laptop:
This scene was 30 minutes long because we kept
going back and forth on the samefootage because in
order to get a good angle we filmed it several times
making sure the lighting wouldn’tlook bad.
6:15pm Finding The Diary:
This scene also took as 30 minutes because filming a
scene wheresomeone has to look distraughttakes
awhile. Because, we were filming this scene we had
to make surethat it looked really very real.
6:45pm Sleeping Problems:
We had a bit of an issue ting to film this becausewe
had to make surethat the bedroomdidn’t look too
dark but with the help of having a flashlight on a
Smartphonethe brightness was justfine.
