2. When the producer comes to selling a film, they can have several roles, which include
pre-production, Production and post-production. Most importantly, production
companies are integral in securing actors and crucial people such as the screenwriters
and those who will finance the film. A producer may help to develop the premise of a
film also. As for pre-production, a producer/ Production company is responsible for
sourcing and bring together members of the creative team. They will also work closely
with the executive producer to increase the finances for a film. Their responsibilities are
vast and even include the authority to go location scouting, look into the budget of a
film and they are also incredibly involved in the final shooting of a film script.
In production the producer constantly consults with the director whilst managing
production to ensure that everything is going as well as it should. The production
company mentors the day to day running of a film with power reaching the point that
they can choose to approve of the script changes. Distributors and investigators who
wish to inquire about the film to contact the production companies to arrange such
details.
During post-production the production company liaises with financial and distribution
companies whilst also working closely with post-production personnel such as the
composer (music), visual effects staff and the editor.
3. I devised this name for our film’s production company. From this you can tell that the
production company is quite dedicated to making fantasy/ comedy movies which is why
we wanted a name suitable to the genre of our film.
The screen started off as black, but then, a red and a light blue spark shoot from either end of
the screen, travel around a bit and then they collide, making an explosion sound in the middle of
the screen, revealing the name “Fire Ice productions”. The explosions kind of adds a comedic
element to the whole thing, which is a clear indication that “Fire Ice productions” usually make
fantasy/ comedy movies.
4. Paramount Picture productions has adopted a film before called “paranormal activity”.
Which has made it to cinemas and has had more sequels. This was something that we
wanted our film to be and Paramount may invest in my film’s production and buy the
rights to the film once made. This is due to Paramount’s great success history with
comedy films, like Anchorman: the legend of Ron Burgundy. The role of the distributor
is to:
Acquire the license to release the film in a particular country.
Pay the royalties to the producer
Launch film
Enter into an agreement with a cinema screen on ‘play dates’
Transport the film
