Parlamentul European al Tinerilor reprezintă un proiect educațional independent care se pliază nevoilor specifice a tinerilor cetățeni europeni. EYP (European Youth Parliament) încurajează gândirea independentă și inițiativa socio-politică în rândul tinerilor precum și facilitează practicarea și dezvoltarea abilităților profesionale și sociale de bază. De la inaugurarea programului în 1987, mai multe zeci de mii de tineri au participat în cadrul sesiunilor regionale, naţionale şi internaţionale, au format prietenii şi au extins rețeau de contacte atât la nivel național cât și dincolo de granițele țărilor de origine. Astăzi, Parlamentul European al Tinerilor este una dintre cele mai mari platforme europene pentru dezbatere politică care presupune întâlniri interculturale, activitate politică educaţională şi schimb de idei în rândul tinerilor din Europa. EYP este o reţea formată din 36 de asociaţii şi organizaţii europene, în care mii de tineri sunt voluntari activi.

25th Bi-annual Meet held by Amity School of Distance Learning (ASoDL) Amity School of Distance Learning held its 25th Biannual Meet at Amity Campus, Sector – 44, Noida on 11th March 2012. The meet witnessed heavy crowd which further indicated the importance of distance education not only for freshers but also for the professionals. The occasion was graced by Prof. M Aslam, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU who expressed his happiness at the standard of presentation and meeting with the students of Amity School of Distance Learning. He gave the relevance of distance education and the necessity of hard work. Welcoming the new entrants, Maj Gen (Dr.) Surendar Kumar, Chairman-ASoDL inspired them for “aiming high in life, working hard, keeping their spirits high and never giving up”. Other dignitaries from the Industry like Mr. Adarsh Agarwal, CEO, I-energizer Noida, Mr. Sekhar Sahay, Director (HR) Ericsson and Mr. N P S Rana, Vice President (HR) Motherson Sumi System Ltd., also motivated the students to work hard and work smart for achieving success in life. Prof. (Col.) Rajive Kohli Ph. D, Director-ASoDL, Mr. Abhinash Kumar Dy. Director, Mr. Harish Kumar Dy. Director (Academics) and Mr. Alok Awtans Asst. Director apprised the students about the conduct of distance learning programmes to enable them to successfully complete their chosen programme.

The EYP represents a non-partisan and independent educational project which is tailored specifically to the needs of the young European citizen. The EYP encourages independent thinking and socio-political initiative in young people and facilitates the learning of crucial social and professional skills. Since its inauguration, many tens of thousands of young people have taken part in regional, national and international sessions, formed friendships and made international contacts across and beyond borders. The EYP has thus made a vital contribution towards uniting Europe. Today the EYP is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe. The EYP consists of a network of 37 European associations and organisations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity.
