1. PRODUCTIONPLAN
RELEASE DATE
The proposed release date for my film will be late 2020,mostlikely October or November because this is the time
of year other infamous crime/drama films have been released.Therefore,Iwantmy film to be able to compete with
others of the same genre. Pulp Fiction, released in 1994, was released in late October. Similarly to this classic
crime film, the concept of ‘Fools Gold’ has comedic elements however it is meantto be serious. This time of year
is also ideal as itdoes notclash with local or seasonalevents as itis following summer and justshortofChristmas.
Thus, I believe and October/November release date is ideal.
Following feedback given after my presentation, I may need to amend my storyboards to be clearer in what my
story is. I also may need to spend more time working on character profiles, such as changing Gary from a
Mancunian to a cockney as that may play out better between himselfand Nick.I may even decide to make all the
characters Londoners to keep the storyline less complex but not making it more simple or weak.
BUDGET
I plan on restricting the budget to roughly £30 as there is no need to spend a lot of money. I already have some
props,such as the pistols and Iwill ask the actors to supplytheir own costumes as theyall own the correct clothes
for their roles.Therefore,I will potentially have to allocate spending to lighting,butit will mostlygo to props.These
include empty round casings,fake blood and anything else I may need. As the filming is local to the school,most
of the shooting will mostlikelyoccur during school time or straightafter so there will be little spending implications
in terms of travel.

2. CHARACTER COSTUMES
Alex will wear a leather jacket with black jeans and t-shirt,looking like a thug. This follows conventions ofthe films
I am drawing my inspiration from for this film, 00s crime thrillers.
Gary and Nick will dress similarlyas theyare friends and colleagues though,unlike Alexeyev they will be presented
as scruffy and unconcerned about their image. They will wear the clothes stereotypical to chavs in the 00s.
Charles will simply wear a white t-shirt and jeans.
CONTINGENCY PLAN

Actor unavailability To ensure that no issues arise in terms of a shortage
of actors, such as if they are unavailable to film, I will
plan to have actors on standby in terms of a backup
cast (each assigned to a specific character). This
prevents issues with delaying filming or changing
scenes or the storyline of the film.
Location unavailability I doubtthat I will have an issue with location availability
as the entire film is based in a garage belonging to one
the main characters. However, should there be an
issue with filing in this location, I have another local
location I can use.
REVISED KEY SCENE MATERIALS
I have changed some elements ofthe storyboards in the introduction;for example, initially,Charles was meantto
be gagged by a piece of cloth around his mouth,butI have since then decided to not do this for logistical reasons.
I have also decided to add a small partin the credits,before the story begins where Iwill have a plain black screen
while the credits roll and sounds ofa chase are heard.This will be done to confuse the audience and make them
curious as to what is going on.

Certificate The certificate for my film will most likely
be a 15 due to the graphic content and
some violentscenes,as well as the use of
some strong language. Therefore, I must
refrain from using too much strong
language and make sure the violent
scenes are not too graphic, to ensure the
film is not rated an 18 by the BBFC.
The BBFC is the organisation that rates
certificates for films. I must adhere to the
guidelines theysetoutto ensure there are no
legal implications that could result in the
suing of my production company.

Considerations
My film will contain some contentthatmay
offend some audiences, such as some
strong language and graphic scenes.Iwill
ensure that the film is shot in the correct
manner as to ensure it was produced in
good taste and not intentionally meant to
offend or upset some audiences.
I will adhere to the guidelines ofthe BBFC to
ensure the film is kept to a 15 certificate as
that is the intended target audience of my
film. I will also ensure the content in my film
does not offend anyone specific group in
particular, to avoid scrutiny.

The website ‘Shortofthe Week’ has a few
guidelines to follow in order for it to be
posted on the website. Among these are:
music videos or abstract films with no or
little story and films driven solely by
special effects, among others. It also
states that most submissions are 15
minutes long,though the maximum length
is 40 minutes.
To ensure the film is within the guidelines for
the short film website, I have made certain
the film will onlybe between 15-20 minutes to
ensure a solid storyline and that the film isn’t
too long for submission.
