Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today signed a proclamation declaring March 2014 Colorectal Cancer
Awareness Month in New York State and also reminded New Yorkers to get screened for colorectal,

State Health Department Confirms Measles Case in Monroe County
The New York State Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed that a University of Rochester
student recently treated at Strong Memorial Hospital had the measles. The student has since fully
recovered and is no longer contagious. People who were potentially exposed on the University
campus are being alerted. The overwhelming majority of people who might have been exposed are
not at-risk because they are considered immune either due to their vaccination history or being of an
age that past exposure is very likely.

State Health Department Update Regarding Second Confirmed Measles Case in Capital Region
The New York State Department of Health (DOH) reported yesterday that measles has been
confirmed in a young child who was admitted to Albany Medical Center, and exposures of members
of the public may have occurred. Additional locations of potential exposures at Albany Medical
Center have now been identified.
