CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Rotations Summary: Established comprehensive experience in both large teaching hospitals and
outpatient clinics in the DC, MD, and VA region. I was often able to work independently with
supervision to develop communication, diagnostic, management, and technical skills. My patients
were from diverse socioeconomic and international backgrounds. EMR experience includes
Athenahealth and Cerner Powerchart.
Emergency Medicine Practicum (George Washington University Hospital)
Managed and treated common emergency room patients and families at a Level 1 trauma
center, of various degrees of acuity, in both fast track and main track. Established health
records, developed plans for laboratory and diagnostic orders. Elected to complete an
additional 4 weeks of Emergency Medicine training to improve medical management and
gain technical skills in plain radiology, CT scans, ECGs, wound care and suturing.

Infectious Disease Elective Practicum(George Washington University Hospital,
Washington, DC)
Performed at the intern level in the ID consult service at GWUH. Developed proficiency in
managing antibiotic regimens and providing recommendations for the treatment of a wide
range of infectious disease including tropical infections, TB, and HIV associated infections.
Extensive experience with patients on the surgical service to manage post-op infections,
abscesses, osteomyelitis, and wound debridement.

Diagnosis and treatment in the primary care setting with a PA who specialized in

Pediatrics Practicum (Children’s Health Center @ THEARC, Washington, DC)
This community health center serves a large population of low SES families. I worked
alongside faculty and residents from Children’s National Medical Center to provide
extensive counseling during well child checks and diagnosed/managed common
conditions--including microbial infections and rashes, atopic conditions, obesity, birth
control, pregnancy, and behavioral problems.

Clinical experience on a medicine service at a large teaching hospital/FQHC. Worked with
resident house staff to formulate problem lists, plan programs of care, coordinate consults,

Clinical experience in the psychiatric consult service at GSH which at any time consisted of

Clinical experience at a large labor and delivery center that delivers 8,600 babies a year.
Prenatal and postpartum care for a predominantly uninsured and Spanish-speaking

deliveries and cesarean sections.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Intern, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR), HHS, Washington,
DC (Feb 2013-July 2013)
Engaged with health officials across the country to coordinate and execute HAvBED exercise drills. The National
Hospital Available Beds for Emergencies and Disasters (HAvBED) is a web-based national health care facility bed
tracking system, used in the event of a public health emergency.
Lab Instructor, PLS 21 (Intro to Computer Applications), UC Davis, Davis, CA (Jan 2008-June 2009)
Developed, assisted, and instructed lab workshops for a university course that covered basic functions of Microsoft
Office Suite 2003. Revised tutorials and assignments for the new Office 2007 curriculum. Hired and trained new

National PA Week 2014 at the GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences
As PA Week Co-Chair, I orchestrated National PA Week 2014 events at GWU including a blood drive, pre-PA school
information session, healthy cooking demo, and trivia table. I interfaced with the GWU SMHS marketing
department to create advertisements for PA week events on both physical and digital media. The event raised $460
in funds towards the James K Tolton Student Society, which was awarded “Outstanding Student Society” by the
Student Academy of the American Association of Physician Assistants (SAAAPA).
