(1)This time, we visited their workshop at Khurais Road (same area of their HQ), then had a initial
meeting among their workshop MGR, AUM sales/service/parts MGRs.
(2) In Riyadh workshop, they have 8 mechanics (1 is Saudi) including 1 electrician. They have 2 shifts,
and morning shift will be from 6:00 – 8:00. Their fleet is “Direct own” and “leasing” vehicles. As for
direct own, they maintain by them, while leasing company maintains leasing vehicles.
All vehicles will come to workshop at least once in a week, to be investigate and checked.
(3) As for their Kingdom operation, they have 14 workshops in the Kingdom.

(1) This time we visited their workshop to see their service operations.
(2) As above, the vehicle will be used in many locations, so they couldn’t bring vehicle to AUM
for warranty issue. ( Cross dealer warranty system is not functioning yet.)
(3) They purchase parts from AUM and Market both, whichever cheaper. They have their
parts warehouse, but inside many imitation parts are found.
(4) As the traffic accidents happen frequently, they requested Driver training to AUM.
AUM will provide some plan to them soon.

■Al Fahhad  Work Shop Manager, AUM  Mr.Wassim, Mr.Shakeel, MCMr.Osada / Kambara
(1) This time, we visited their workshop (close to Exit 18) to see their service operations.
(2) Basically, they do routine maintenance at their workshop, however warranty issue is not so
well operated.
(3) They need training for their mechanics. AUM will provide plan for the training (2 mechanics in one day).
Training both for pickup and truck will be necessary, according to them.
(4) Workshop manager claimed that the parts price is very expensive compared to market price.
however, it seems that their comparison is with non-genuine parts.
(5) They strongly claimed about ISUZU RODEO. They bought totally 7 units, however the parts supply is
completely stopped. Then they had to cannibalize 3 units for just taking parts from them.

Al Manhal Water (Nestle Water) (3)

■Al Manhal Water  Mr.Ashraf (Workshop MGR) / Workshop Supervisor, AUM  Mr.Wassim / Mr.Shakeel,
MC  Mr.Osada / Kambara
(1) We visited their workshop, and had a meeting with Mr.Ashraf. The purpose is to see their service operations.
(2) Basically, FRR is better than UD MK210 in product wise, however parts availability is not good now.
Some parts are not available in AUM nor other dealer nor market. AUM parts manager will visit them again,
and will specify what kind of parts is in short. And also they need parts catalog in their hand.
(3) They have 48 units of FRR now in Riyadh (only Al Mahnal, excluding Spring Water Factory), and UD is around
200 units. Another around 20 units of FRR is now on the pipeline. (They seem not to buy any UD cars recently)
(4) Their final weight calculation is as follows,
Water : 6.4t (20kg x 320 bottles in one car) / FRR + rear steel body : 5.73t / Bottle Cage : 0.7t.
 Totally it will be 12.8t, which is more than FRR GVW (10.4t). However there is no problem now, according
to them.
(5) UD’s problem is wheel cylinder. Oil is leaked every 2 or 3 month, then they have to change oil and sealing rubbers.
This will be consuming cost and time, and also with down-time. However, in FRR such kind of thing would not
happen till now.

(1) Initial Price, (2) Resale Value, (3) Maintenance + Parts
[Their Advantages]
(1) Local Based Company. They can negotiate with Gov.sectors, and Saudization is well
functioning. (Employees are from 30 countries)
(2) Finance Resource is strong, with back-born of ALISSA group.
(3) Sister Company (AUM / AACO / Autostar) is supporting.
[Used Car (Leased back car)]
These car will be sold to the market, mainly for Domestic (75%). Remaining will be for export.
For examples, they have plan to buy 5,000 units in 2011, while they will sell 4,000 units.
[Spot and Lease]
There is some project which has not clear period, in this case “Spot” operation will be executed.
Period will be 2 – 4 years, and customer can return the car anytime they want. In Spot case,
BTC will send their mechanic to customers’ sites for the maintenance.

(1) BTC explained about general information about the company and the market, Recently, the market is shifted to
leasing, as the customers don’t want to have assent in their hands. And also, thanks to good market movement of
second hand car market, their business is now growing.
(2) Currently, their main fleet for commercial vehicles are ISUZU (trucks and pickups), however other brands is trying to
penetrate with very good prices. For example, Toyota Dyna is now aggressive, and their price is much cheaper than
ISUZU. Though they cannot know the resale value of Dyna in the future, some portion is shifted to Dyna.
Especially for Food / Juice segment (with VAN) is taken by Toyota now.
(3) According to their explanation, the depreciation is depending on the purpose and models. (They cannot inform us
in the details)
(4) According to workshop MGR, for pickup, there is frequent problem on transmission (2.5L MSG problems). However
these problems are after warranty conditions (more than 60,000km), they seems not to report or bring to dealer well.
Autostar workshop in Exit 18. BTC contracts with Autostar as their workshop.
BTC’s mobile workshop (Toyota Hiace). Fast moving parts (including oil) and tools are carried.
Shary Rent –A-Car

[Fleet] Totally apx 17,000 units
Among them, ISUZU is around 3,000 units (more than 90% is Pickup)
These figures are all approximate ones. They have a few trucks (not so many).
In 2011, volume will be reduced to 14,000, as one big project will be finished soon.
[Usage] Operating Lease
(now trying to penetrate into Sport segment)
[Replacement Criteria] After finish the leasing period (longest 6eyras, but AVG 3 years)
[Service / Parts] In main cities  Their own workshop, Remote area  Contracted WS.

(1) To be flexible. They can customize leasing plan, based on customers’ requests.
(2) Biggest volume in KSA, which means strong buying power.
(3) 24 hours rescue road service.
(4) Financial capability.
[Used Car (Leased back car)]
They will sell the vehicle to the market via auction center (Riyadh). They have special
agreement with auction center about exclusive auction for Shary.
[Spot and Lease]
Currently, most of their operation is for “lease”, but they are now expanding the business to Spot.
In 2011, their target for Spot segment is 1,200 units as initial stage.

■Shary  Mr.Abdullah (GM)/Mr.Hamoud (AGM), AUMMr.Wassim,ISUZUMr.Yamanouchi,IOTMr.Piyapong,MC  Kambara
(1) As general, the leasing fee is same amount as 5 years ago, though the vehicle price is increased. Competition is so
tough. Generally, they are now satisfied with ISUZU, expecially for D-MAX.
(2) As a trend in the market, recently dairy and food companies are shifting to lease from owning. This trend is applicable
for truck segment. They recognized this segment, then they will penetrate from now on.
(3) Usually, the customers’ interest on the vehicle is only specification. Many of them are not specifying brand. According
to them, Dyna requirement and reputation is not so much so far.
(4) Shary is strong for Gov sector, like STC and SCECO (In 2005 Shary bought more than 1,000 units D-MAX for STC).
however, in this year, they lost SCECO deal, as Al Jazira Rent a car entered with Ford Ranger with crazy price (2,452 u’).
(5) Depreciation will be depending on the model and purposes. Generally, RV after 3 years will be 30-50% of the initial value.
■Shary Workshop  Mr.Bahij (WS MGR), AUM Mr.Wassim, ISUZU Mr.Yamanouchi, IOT==. Mr.Piyapong, MC Kambara
(1) They have huge workshop in north of Riyadh, together with their yard.
(2) Mr.Bahij was working for Al-Esaye before. He claimed about 3.0L D-MAX parts availability.  AUM Parts MGR will visit
this workshop soon to check more details.
(3) He skipped warranty procedure for ISUZU, as there is no official service history. We advised them to bring the vehicle
to AUM workshop, with their own service history.

[Licensed Financing Company] In the Kingdom, only 4 companies are licensed by SAMA.
Ajil is with Riyad bank (35%) / Zahid (25%) / Juffari (5%) / Yemco(5%) / Alireza (5%) /
Mitsubishi UFJ Lease (5%) / MC (20%).
Originally, it was owned by Zahid completely, but in 2008 it is spinned out.
Ajil is 3rd
licensed financial company (after Al Amther / Oryx).
[Leasing Conditions]
(1) Period is 3 years or 4 years, and depriciation will be 25% per year.
(2) Down Payment will be depending on the customers. In better case, it will be around 10%,
and normal case around 20-30%.
(3) There is no residual value scheme.
[Other topics]
(1) Usually, customer will decide the vehicle brand and specifications. Currently Ajil doesn’t
finance to Chinese and Korean trucks. In the future might be for Hyundai trucks.
(2) Ajil’s targeting segment is Small / Middle companies (SME : Small and Medium Establishments).
Big customer will be financed by banks. And they don’t deal with retail segment.
Targeting on SME is request from SAMA.
(3) By the way, Budget’s 60% is owned by Zahid group, so under same umbrella.
Hertz is by Alireza group.

(2) Basically, they do routine maintenance at their workshop, however warranty issue is not so well operated. (3) They need training for their mechanics. AUM will provide plan for the training (2 mechanics in one day). Training both for pickup and truck will be necessary, according to them. (4) Workshop manager claimed that the parts price is very expensive compared to market price. however, it seems that their comparison is with non-genuine parts. (5) They strongly claimed about ISUZU RODEO. They bought totally 7 units, however the parts supply is completely stopped. Then they had to cannibalize 3 units for just taking parts from them. Al Manhal Water (Nestle Water) (3) Contact Details (HEAD OFFICE) : [On 2010/12/18] ■Al Manhal Water  Mr.Ashraf (Workshop MGR) / Workshop Supervisor, AUM  Mr.Wassim / Mr.Shakeel, MC  Mr.Osada / Kambara (1) We visited their workshop, and had a meeting with Mr.Ashraf. The purpose is to see their service operations. (2) Basically, FRR is better than UD MK210 in product wise, however parts availability is not good now. Some parts are not available in AUM nor other dealer nor market. AUM parts manager will visit them again, and will specify what kind of parts is in short. And also they need parts catalog in their hand. (3) They have 48 units of FRR now in Riyadh (only Al Mahnal, excluding Spring Water Factory), and UD is around 200 units. Another around 20 units of FRR is now on the pipeline. (They seem not to buy any UD cars recently) (4) Their final weight calculation is as follows, Water : 6.4t (20kg x 320 bottles in one car) / FRR + rear steel body : 5.73t / Bottle Cage : 0.7t.  Totally it will be 12.8t, which is more than FRR GVW (10.4t). However there is no problem now, according to them. (5) UD’s problem is wheel cylinder. Oil is leaked every 2 or 3 month, then they have to change oil and sealing rubbers. This will be consuming cost and time, and also with down-time. However, in FRR such kind of thing would not happen till now.
