6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
1. Editing played a crucial part in our thriller opening scene we used a programme on a Mac pc called final cut pro. This programme allowed us to edit and cut our shots down or even extend them. Most of our shots were quite long therefore we used final cut to cut down our shots. Also we added effects and soundtrack via final cut pro; we also added voiceovers and timed everything perfectly in order for it to be perfect. Also we found the fades useful and the titles also because we could cut up our shots and it would run smoothly.
2. We have been shown by our teachers how use BlogSpot. It allows us to post all our work and planning and it allows us to refer to it anytime we want, and our teachers so they can comment on our work and we can immediately make improvements.
3. The camera is what we used to film our thriller, during the construction of this we learnt that pressing the record button is essential, because after we had shot a small scene we had forgotten to press the record button, but we sorted it out and double checked every scene we shot if it was recorded. Also we realised how to put the cassette inside the camera appropriately and how to insert the camera on the tripod correctly. Also we found out that we have to buy the correct cassette for the camera because after a whole day of tiresome work, when we got back to watch what he had shot the cassette was faulty and we had to reshoot. Therefore the next time we made sure we bought the correct cassette. For the tripod we made sure that our camera was always on it so all our shots could be still. Also we adjusted it to the right angles, for example high angle shots, low angle shots etc.
4. We also used the lightening to create extra effects of the child getting tortured it made the whole film more bright. We needed it as the place we were shooting the torturing scene was quite dark. Our group experimented with the lights to see which adds to the best effect and we had to make sure we didn’t have it on for too long as it might overheat. Also we didn’t touch straight after we used as it was very hot so we waited a while for it to cool down.
