Paramore and The Ting Tings compared to Fire Drive Tiger
1. -1
A very similar band to Fire Drive Tiger I found was
Paramore. They are a four piece band, three boys and a girl as a lead singer
and the lead singer also had red hair.
Although I thought that some of their music was 'rockier' than Fire Drive Tiger
as FDT are more pop, I found they had a very similar stage attitude too.
Meaning their stage presence was very similar to FDT.
A particular Paramore Video I have been focussing on is Misery Business.
This video is set in a school and is about a girl who bullies all of the girls in her
school and then gets her comeuppance at the end. It is in the genre of a teen
film and is obviously aimed at this age group too. Because it is set in a school
it is something the audience can relate to.
Paramore:
Paramore is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, formed in
2004. Members are lead vocalist and keyboardist Hayley Williams, lead
guitarist Josh Farro, bassist Jeremy Davis, drummer Zac Farro, and rhythm
guitarist Taylor York.
The group released their debut album All We Know Is Falling in 2005, and
their second album, Riot! in 2007, which was certified Platinum in the US and
Gold in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. Brand New Eyes,
Paramore's third album, was released on September 29, 2009. Brand New
Eyes is the band's highest charting album to date.

2. Another similar band to Fire Drive Tiger is The Ting Tings. Although there is
only two of them in the band and their style is a bit different their songs are
quite similar.
The Ting Tings is a Grammy-nominated English indie pop duo composed of
Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, vocals, piano) and Katie White (vocals,
guitar, bass drums, bass guitar, and cow bells). Originally from Hackney,
London, they formed in December 2007 while based at Islington Mill Artist
Studios in Salford. They have released four singles on their current label
Columbia Records UK, including the single "That's Not My Name", which
charted straight at number one in the UK Singles Chart on 18 May 2008.The
album We Started Nothing was released on 19 May 2008 and charted at
number one in the United Kingdom.

Another band I found that I felt was similar to Fire Drive Tiger was
Evanescence. Although they are more metal that rock/pop they have the
same construction with male backing and a female lead and in there videos
they also veer away from the man eater sex side of the media. They focus on
the social minorities and appeal to those who feel like outcasts. This is simialr
to what we wish to do with our music video.
