To have a clear, consistent link between the Discipline Framework and appropriate consequences for unacceptable behaviorsResponders: Dean, School Leader, “Interventionist”<br />Responder System: <br />Teacher texts Responder the name of the student in need of assistance. <br />Responder confers briefly and privately with teacher about student actions and reviews steps the teacher took to reteach/correct the behavior (Discipline Framework)<br />Responder begins entry in Discipline Spreadsheet<br />Entry tracks the incident to its conclusion<br />There may be multiple entries for a student in one day.<br /> 2. Possible actions taken by Responder: <br /> a. Push-in in classroom setting to support student while still in learning environment<br /> b. Pull-out for brief conference (probably in hall or back of room), then return to learning environment<br /> c. Pull-out for more substantial conference/timeout (in available office), then return to learning environment<br /> d. For tantrum de-escalation, pull-out to Time Out Room with either a return to the learning environment, or a <br /> possible terminal consequence<br /> e. Confers with other Responders to determine whether Terminal Consequence is necessary; <br />Terminal Consequences may be given for any of the following behaviors: <br />Fighting/aggressive physical contact or action<br />Cursing/inappropriate language/name-calling/yelling at teacher, classmates<br />iii. Threats, verbal or physical<br /> iv. Bullying<br /> v. Unsafe physical placement/leaving learning environment<br /> vi. Sexual references, either verbal or physical <br /> f. Upon return of student to classroom or determination of terminal consequence, another brief/private convo with teacher takes place<br /> 3.
