2. How well do you think you
accomplished the task?
• I think we did the task well. Overall the film could
have been better, like the camera angles and
actual filming of the scenes. But we did what the
task asked us to do and created a film which
included everything it needed to.
3. What was successful?
• Team work:
I think we worked well as a team, we didn’t argue
about anything and we listened to each others
ideas. We both took turns filming and I edited it, but
checked with Amy before actually publishing it onto
Youtube.
4. • Planning:
I think we planned out work really well, we used
story-boards to show a shot of the clip and to
write about the soundtrack, camera movement
and dialogue and the timing of the shot. However,
when actually filming we didn’t stick to our
plan/story-boards at all which I think we should do
next time.
5. • Filming skills:
I don’t think our filming skills were very good. The
camera was very shaky resulting in the focus of
the shot often being out of the shot, for example
in the shot of him walking down the stairs his feet
are sometimes cut out. We did use a tri-pod for
some of the shots, but I think we should have
used it for more to make them more steady.
6. • Editing Skills
I think I edited the film quite well. There was no
silly mistakes and it all make sense in the order I
put it in. However, to improve I could have sped
up the shot timings near the end as the film
climaxed and the action happened to make it
more dramatic.
7. • Sound:
At first we weren't going to use sound because
we thought it would create tension, but when I
went to edit it there was a lot of back-ground
noise which cancelled out the tension because it
wasn't completely silent. I decided to add music
over top and make it repeat to create the tension
it was missing. The music also creates mystery
and a sense of not knowing whats going to
happen.
8. What skills do you need to develop
before the main production task?
• I need to develop my filming skills to make sure
each shot is steady and framed correctly. I need
to work on my editing skills and make sure the
timings of the shot reflect the atmosphere and the
feeling I want to create. I also need to make sure
that I create a plan and a story-board which I’m
happy with and can stick to when I’m filming.
