2. Scene 1:
Interview with James Cooper, we shall just hear his own voice
answering the questions; however we will be prompting him with
questions to guide him in the right direction. Interviewers are not in
the documentary nor heard. We want him to be talking about a past
experience when he has a car accident when he was younger. He’ll talk
about his suffering and how it affected his life. He will be sitting in
front of a black screen and filming his face closely.
- Within this interview clips will be shown from “safe drive stay alive”
with sound bridges.
- Slow monotonous soundtrack to set the mood
3. Scene 2:
We interview Lucine Sandiford who gives us an insight into her
recent experience of a car crash as she wrote off her car and
injured herself and three other passengers in the car. She was left
in a nervous state and wasn’t able to drive for a few months. The
accident consisted of two cars, Lucine’s classic golf and a 4x4
mini, Lucine’s car spun around and ended up on the other side of
the roundabout side to side with the mini. The CCTV watching
over the roundabout called the police and ambulance straight
away.
- Slow monotonous soundtrack to set the mood.
- Cross cut to images of the damaged car.
4. Scene 3:
Facts and figures over a black screen moving in and out:
- Last year on Thames valley roads on average of 4
young people per week were killed or seriously injured.
- Around 1 in 4 deaths on the road is aged 17-24.
- This summer Thames Valley Police caught 69 drivers
under the age of 25 for drink driving!
5. Scene 4
We will email a policeman/community support officer who has close links with our school
about interviewing him discussing young people and driving dangerously.
Question we will ask him:
- In you field of work are you wary of teenage drivers and the threat they bring to other
road users?
- From your experience do you find that most accidents are caused by young drivers?
- Do you have any examples of accidents you have seen or dealt with?
- Have you ever had to speak to parents after their child has been in an accident?
- What message would you give to young drivers?
Hopefully we will be able to film him in the Police station which will make the scene feel
very important.
6. Scene 5:
Film the dual carriage way between Weybridge and
Addlestone, we shall set the camera equipment on the
side of the road and film as the cars drive by. We shall
experiment with different camera angles and distances
and see which gives the most effective sight of drivers
today. We will also attempt to film from inside a moving
car to extend our range of diversity between camera
shots. We have chosen this location because we feel as
though drivers exceed the speed limit of 50 and it is
seen to be a dangerous road, in which someone was
recently killed on.
7. Scene 6
Film new drivers who have recently passed their test
throwing their learner plates in the air, this will be a
short clip inserted between an appropriate scene.
