This document advertises and provides information about a "My Story Group" hosted by Gemstone Life Coaching. The group meets bi-weekly over 8 months to write and share 5 short stories about participants' lives. Members receive 1-1 follow up sessions with the coach. The goal is for members to examine where they've been, where they are now, and where they're going. Expected commitments include weekly writing, coming prepared to share and listen to others' stories, and a final "Show and Tell." Prior participants provided testimonials about how the group helped them gain perspective on their past, feel less burdened, and connect with their authentic selves.  Five, 1-1 follow-up debrief
sessions with Sandy
Cost:
$150/month for 8 months
 A meeting of people who
want to examine their lives for
the sake of a deeper
connection with others.
 An opportunity to explore
how your experiences have
shaped who you are and
how you relate to others.
 Space to practice new ways
of relating, to care for others,
and to be confronted with
your brokenness and
depravity, as well as your
glorious dignity.

9. Expectations of the participants
 Spend time writing each
week outside of the group
time.
 Come prepared for group
with a story to share and
hearts to listen.
 Bring and keep and journal
of insights into each group
member as they share their
life story.
 Conclude the group
process by sharing a one-
time overview “Show and
Tell, ” with the group.

I think breaking the silence of past
trauma’s, being heard by compassionate,
caring people and then being affirmed and
acknowledged put these stories into a more realistic
perspective. Much of the negative energy seeped
out with the sharing of guilt, shame, failure and fear.
I felt a satisfying completeness after my Show and
Tell. It was like a I could leave the past behind and
be more present in the now and future. I felt like I
didn’t need to drag the sack with me any longer.
The insights of the threads that carried through my
journey are also indicators for my present. When I
start repeating an old pattern or old ticker tapes I
stop and say, “I don’t want to go there.” or, “That’s
a lie.” The group also helped me connect to my
authentic self and because of the deep sharing, the
persona I put on or the persona someone put on me,
was exposed and the real me was revealed. This
was an awesome experience of vulnerability,
acceptance, love, caring and healing. I think if a
person is willing and ready to look inside, they will
definitely benefit from this experience.
