Ask whether or not a staff member will be dedicated to helping with GOAL on the day you are
there
Get site coordinator’s contact information in case you need to communicate throughout the 6
weeks
Space
Will we have access to the gym every day?
If not, what other spaces are available to us to use for games and activities?
Is it best for GOAL to stay in one area for the entire program time or should we move around
between the gym and other areas? What works best for the after-school program staff?
2. Where is the best place to store the equipment bins and student booklets onsite?
Classroom Management
Are there any techniques that the staff uses to manage behavior and keep students quiet and on
task?
What rules are in place that you could use in order to be more successful? (i.e. no one talks
when the teacher is talking, raise your hand if you want to answer, etc.)
Are there any reward systems in place that you can use to reward good participation and
behavior in GOAL?
Do the after-school staff members have any other ideas for classroom and behavior
management that they think would be helpful?
