3. Eyespot: mancha ocular
• The Euglena is unique in that it is both
heterotrophic (must consume food) and
autotrophic (can make its own food).
• Euglena also have an eyespot at the
anterior end that detects light, it can be
seen near the reservoir.
14. Forked tongue : Lengua bífida
• A forked tongue is a tongue split into two
distinct tines at the tip; this is a feature
common to many species of reptiles.
Reptiles smell using the tip of their tongue,
and a forked tongue allows them to sense
from which direction a smell is coming.
