Trialing of the test on a group of
non native Speakers:
● While planning to conduct a test, I have faced two types of
challenges:
1. Personal Challenges:
2. Problems With Speaking Activities
○ Inhibition : Worried about making mistakes, fearful or criticism of losing face, simply
shy of the attention that their speech attracts
○ Nothing to Say : they have no motive to express themselves beyond the guilty feeling
that they should be speaking
○ Low or Uneven Participations : This problem is conducted by the tendency of some
learners to dominate , while others speak very little or not at all
○ Mother-tongue Use : It feels unnatural to speak to one another in a foreign language,
feel less 'exposed’ if they are speaking their mother tongue.
