This document discusses making the innovation system work in a food Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC). The expected Key Performance Indicators for innovation include new profitable start-ups, innovations in existing businesses, and licenses and consultancy services. These innovations aim to create jobs, attract capital investments, and secure growth for EU companies. Current special focus areas are infrastructure access, open innovation collaboration, a KIC-based investment fund, mobilizing venture capital for food, and integrating entrepreneurial education. Current tasks at the Denmark/Sweden level include dialogue with stakeholders, mobilizing innovation networks and projects, and mobilizing private venture capital.
