1. Sensex retreats in red after crossing 21K; IT drains

Ignoring weak lead from Wall Street, Indian equity indices edged higher in morning deals with Sensex surpassing 21K
mark. Both frontline gauges neared three year high levels as investors sentiments weighed on heavy FII buying in last
session. However, in late noon trades, benchmarks plunged and finally settled marginally in red. On BSE sectorial
front, Capital Goods was the top gainer whereas IT index topped the laggards amidst strengthening Rupee against
Dollar.
Among global peers, US indices inched lower on mixed corporate earnings. On the other hand, Asian and European
indices traded in green zone.
Back home, SKS Microfinance shined 2.3% on BSE as Foreign Institutional Investors’ (FIIs) have increased their stake
in the company to an all-time high of 36.9% in the Q2FY14 quarter. (Read More)
Britannia Industries gained 1.5% and hit fresh 52 week high at 972.5 on BSE as the company is reportedly in process

Key Quarterly Results
Hero Moto Corp's Net shined 9% in Q2 at Rs 481.5 crore as against Rs 440.58 crore in same quarter of previous

Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Net jumped 25.74% in Q2 to Rs 352.54 crore as compared to Rs 280.38 crore for the same
quarter in the previous year. On the consolidated basis, the group registered a growth of 16.08% in Net at Rs 583
crore as compared to Rs 502.17 crore in the same quarter previous year. The stock closed 0.33% down on BSE.

Power Grid Corporation of India's Net grew 10% in Q2FY14 at Rs 1239 crore as compared to Rs 1126 crore in the

L&T Finance Holdings has reported over 13 fold jump in Q2 Net at Rs 146.5 crore as compared to Rs 11.14 crore for
the same quarter in the previous year. On the consolidated basis, the group has registered a growth of 8.33% in net

respectively, while 191 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 20725.43, down 42.45 points or 0.20%. The 30 share index touched a high and a
low of 21039.42 and 20656.70 respectively. 10 stocks advanced against 19 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty lost 14.00 points or 0.23% to settle at 6164.35. The index touched high and low of 6252.45 and
6142.95 respectively. 21 stocks advanced against 29 declining ones on the index.

The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 1.43% at 20.64 from its previous close of 20.35 on Wednesday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Capital Goods (up 1.15%), Automobile (up 0.61%) and Consumer Durables (up 0.49%)
were the top gainers.
Information Technology (down 1.77%), Power (down 1.14%) and Real Estate (down 1.12%) were the top losers.

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (up 2.40%), Larsen And Toubro Ltd (up 1.83%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.49%), HDFC Bank
