well as the influence of culture on an individual's
attitude & productivity at work. After review,

2. Company Profile
Axact Pvt. Ltd was Pakistan's largest IT company
& were also owners of BOL Network. It was
founded in 1997 by Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh with
just 10 employees & later with immense success
were able to hire 2000 employees. In an
interview with Newsweek magazine Mr. Shaikh
described it as the world's largest IT company
aiming to reach 120 countries & hiring around
25000 individuals. The company had 10 diverse
business units providing 23 products, including X-
recruitment, X-CRM, X-Chat, etc.
4. Organizational Behavior
The main components of Axact's organizational behavior included motivational
factors, open communication, task delegation & organizational discipline
In group training sessions, the departmental & organizational goals were explained to the
employees which mainly included sales targets. Motivation was linked to Sales as it
included bonuses, portion of the profit, growth, respect & appreciation for good
performances. This lead to productivity& participation of new employees in achieving the
objectives. Success stories of presidents & The CEO were shared during the seminar to
give them a boost of morale & a realization of the term "nothing is impossible".
Open communication was part of Axact's culture which is often lacking in companies
due to centralization. New employees are normally hesitant to speak out in front of
trainers, senior manager & even colleagues however Axact's training program changes
the employees perception & encourages them to participate & express their opinions.
Task delegation or a certain level of decentralization was practiced among all
departments. New entrants were often delegated tasks after a short period to test their
credibility. For example, in my first month as a sales executive I was given some high
quality leads by team coordinator & I had to achieve a fixed target by the end of the
month.
Organizational discipline was mandatory for employees to maintain & managers to
dictate. New workers coming in late at work, displaying a negative attitude or disrupting
the work environment are issued show cause notices.
5. Conclusion
Organizational behavior is a crucial aspect of any
company to achieve its goals & objectives. Axact had
a dynamic training module that prepared &
motivated its employees before they stepped into the
battleground. Decentralization reduced conflict
between staff & the managers & also allowed
calculated decisions to be taken. Maintenance of
discipline was also a key factor for employees to work
as per the organizational norms. Overall Axact treated
new workers in a way that would keep them
motivated & in accordance with the organization's
goals & vision.
6. Recommendation
Since Axact Pvt. Ltd. Was a performance based
company, focus on additional working hours/late
sittings was inevitable. However, applying the same
culture for new employees is not a good idea as it
reduces productivity, motivation & concentration.
They should test them within the 8 hour frame while
they are under probation as many potential
candidates have quit because of this.
