The Software Development UK Tornado (OPEM45) department of EADS – Defense &
Security Germany strives for the modernization of software development to the state of
the art. A focus of the efforts is the introduction and evaluation of model-driven software
development (MDSD) with the goal of improving and simplifying the processes of
software development for avionics computers in military aircraft, e.g., tornados. When
selecting suitable tools for the project, EADS’s attention was turned to the Eclipse
