areas of two traditional towns (Manama & Muharraq) including heritage environment; architecture
and urban planning; regulations, and land Development Management.

Report on the main efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve
Sustainable Development: Participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the
United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio + 20) Rio de
Janeiro – Brazil-June 20 to 22, 2012. My role of editing this main report is
by collecting data and information from many government agencies
which are concerned with Sustainable Development.

prepared on the subject is to examine the city of
Muharraq and how it meets the Millennium
Development Goals.

Municipal Projects and Services Awards: This professional
report was submitted for the Municipal Services
Landscaping and Environment Award. The name of this
project is: Development of Arad Bay Protectorate Area
Project. This project has been executed for the Public
Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources,
Environment and Wildlife (PMEW); Kingdom of Bahrain.
In co-operation with UN Habitat Program to
Kingdom of Bahrain, two parallel projects
have been done under my supervision to carry
out the Rapid Urban Sector Profiling for
Sustainability in two cities Al Wasta and
Muharraq city. These reports are published in
the UN Habitat website and the Ministry of
Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning
