2. INTRODUCTION
Jane austen(1775-1817)was an english
novelist whose works of romantic fiction, set
among the landed gentry ,earned her a place
as one of the most widely read writers in
english literature.
Her plot mostly highlight the independence
of women on marriage to secure social
standing and economic security.
3. Social class
The novel portrays a world in which
society takes an interest in the
private virtue of its members.
Austin does seem to respect the
class system in few ways,espically
when it operates not as a dividing
power in society, but as a force for
virtue and decency.Darcy is the
primary example of austin high
class gentleman.
4. MONEY
Money was the main sourse of
deotribution and descrimination.
Mr darcy was very rich and he
was upper class of the society
.He had a great honour and
social security.
5. MARRIAGE
Austen portray’s a world in
which choice for individual are
very limited,based almost
exclusively on a family’s social
rank and connections.
Marriage is basically only option
for attaining wealth and social
standing.
The entailment of the longbourn
estate is an extreme hardship on
the bannet familly,and is quite
injust.the entailment of
mr.bennet estate leaves his
doughters in a poor finincial
situation which both requires
them to marry and makes it
more difficult to marry well.
6. Women & Family
Austen is critical of the gender
injustices present in 19th century
english society.
Austen portrays the family as
primarily responsiable for the
intellectual and moral
education of children .
Elizabeth and jane are
constantly forced to pull up with
the foolishness and poor
judjment of their mother and the
sarcastic indifference of their
father.
7. Conclusion
Jane austen seems to tell the
reader that the representatives
of the middle and the upper
class may face a lot of
prejudice as these two classes
are very different but at the
same time it is not the class
that makes a man happily
married but his ability to fight
the pride and prejudice in order
to love the right person.
