“SPEAKING TEST”<br />Instructions: Form a group with eight members. Memorize the given lines and perform them with feelings. This will be a group effort but you will be graded individually. Today, we shall witness the different ways on how to project your voice. We have different ways on how on show the feeling of the character by just providing a twist with your voice. (pause)<br />quot;
You're nothing but a second-rate, trying hard copycat!quot;
<br />Do you know that powerful line? That is just an example. Enjoy this acting as we continue with the famous balcony scene of Romeo and Juliet.<br />ROMEO: She speaks. O, speak again, bright angel, for thou art As glorious to this night, being o'er my head, As is a winged messenger of heaven Unto the white-upturned wond'ring eyes Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him When he bestrides the lazy puffing clouds And sails upon the bosom of the air.JULIET: O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet.<br />NARRATOR 2:<br />Lovely, isn’t? Let’s listen with High School Musical’s main character, Troy Bolton as he talked to his team mates.<br />Troy Bolton: <br />You're my guys and this is our team. Gabriella is not important. I'll forget about her. I'll forget the audition and we'll go out and get that champion for the team. Everybody happy now?<br />NARRATOR 2:<br />Were you convinced by Troy? Let’s try another one. Let’s listen with the funny and sarcastic line of Cyrano de Bergerac.<br />Cyrano de Bergerac: <br />(friendly) How do you drink with such a nose? You ought to have a cup made specially. (descriptive) 'Tis a rock - a crag - a cape - A cape? say rather a peninsula! (inquisitive) What is that receptacle - A razor-case or a portfolio? (kindly) Ah, do you love the little birds so much that they come and sing to you, you give them this to perch on?<br />NARRATOR 3:<br />What about this one, an old man talking to Dr. Faustus?<br />Old Man:<br />quot;
Oh gentle Faustus, leave this damned art,This magic, that will charm they soul to hell,And quite bereave thee of salvation.Though thou hast now offended like a man,Do not persever in it like a devil.quot;
<br />NARRATOR 3:<br />Let us listen with a wife expressing how deeply she loves her husband. The tone is intimate, loving, and sincere.<br />WIFE:<br />How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.I love thee to the depth and breadth and heightMy soul can reach, when feeling out of sightFor the ends of Being and ideal Grace.<br />NARRATOR 3:<br />Let us listen to the voice of a young girl named Anne Frank who tells a story to her classmate.<br />ANNE FRANK: <br />Attention everyone, ahem, “Quack, Quack, Quack Went Mrs. Quackenbush, A Story By Anne Frank”. “Once upon a time there was a mother duck with three beautiful ducklings who lived in a lake ruled by a proud swan. ‘Quack, quack, quack’, said Mrs. Quackenbush to her brood. ‘Quack, quack, quack’ said the ducklings. ‘Keep your voices down!’ roared the swan, his feathers all in a ruffle, ‘keep quiet or I’ll bite you, and then you’ll never quack again’”.<br />NARRATOR3:<br />Ang lastly, let us give way to the dramatic line stated by Ms. Sharon Cuneta as Sarah in the movie, “Caregiver.”<br />SARAH:<br /> quot;
