2. Cell Membrane:
• This is Cell Membrane! He’s our huge protector. If it weren’t for him,
we’d be in a lot of trouble.
• He decides what enters and leaves our cell, so we don’t have to
worry.
3. Nucleus:
• Here’s me! I contain the genetic info of the cell, so we can more and
more copies of us.
4. Cytoplasm and Cytoskeleton:
• It’s the Cytoplasm workers! They contain a lot of the stuff it takes to
run everything around here.
• Certain workers in the same area are known as the Cytoskeleton
workers. These guys are the best of the best and give our cell its
shape.
5. Ribosomes:
• The ribosome workers are a major part in how we get what we need
to do our job. They are almost like our cafeteria workers!
• They deliver proteins throughout our cell to we can function properly.
6. Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER):
• These two workers are twins: Rough and Smooth.
• Rough ER is a bit more serious and he keeps any stray proteins made
by the ribosome workers away from the cell.
• Smooth ER is more laid back and she accepts any task that happens to
need to be done. This includes creating lipids, breaking down
carbohydrates, and making sure substances are non-toxic.
7. Golgi Apparatus:
• Mrs. Golgi is our storage keeper! She stores the proteins from the ER
twins so they can be sent off later.
8. Lysosomes:
• The Lysosome workers have a very complex job where they must
break down other retired workers to make energy. They must, also,
create a healthy environment for other workers to live in.
9. Mitochondria
• This is Mr. Mitochondria! He is our boss and produces everything we
need to function and be hard workers.
10. Vacuole:
• Mr. and Mrs. Vacuole are two different kinds of workers.
• Mr. Vacuole is a food vacuole who stores nutrients for the workers in
the cell, while Mrs. Vacuole is a water vacuole who stores water and
minerals for us to use.
• There is also known to be a tale that another kind of cell that is a lot
like us, but has one large vacuole and two other kinds of workers: a
cell wall and chloroplasts.
