disagree because they tend to use notebooks and just prefer to listen to their instructors. Conclusions
Based on the respondents answer and the researchers findings and interpretations. The researchers
has derived conclusions that would give clarity to what this thesis is seeking to answer. 1. The
reasons why students use modern technology in learning because it helps them in their studying
habits and even doing their homework with ease. It also is a tool in the classroom through
projectors which also helps the instructors deliver their lessons clearly. Through the internet we can

Technology Advantages And Disadvantages Essay
The advancement of technology has led to controversy over its benefits and disadvantages. It is
undeniable that technology is an essential part of our daily lives therefore, people form their
opinions on its affect on humans as a whole. As technology progresses, humans have become
accustomed to not rely on their minds and instead on technology, but this is not always negative
because having technology at our fingertips has led to revolutionary advancements. The
accessibility of the internet has made it simple for humans to learn information faster and easier
than ever before, thus making life much simpler. To know and learn what we know now with a

They claim they can live without these technological devices, but can they really?
While the internet has given us the opportunity to access an an abundant amount of information
to make us knowledgeable it has also helped us use this information to solve anything we desire.
As Carr states in his article "Is Google Making Us Stupid?", "A fundamentally scientific
enterprise, Google is motivated by a desire to use technology, in Eric Schmidt's words, ' to solve
problems that have never been solved ever before"'(Carr 563). Think about it for a second,
technology has solved so many problems in the world in unimaginable ways. Technology has
jumped us from the stone age into present day. Just look at the world now; it has progressed so
much. We enjoy various opportunities that never existed before technology, but in the end we are
benefitting from this and we are the ones creating these opportunities as well. To support my
statement above, in Thomas Pynchon's article " Is It O.K. To Be A Luddite?" he states " With the
proper deployment of budget and computer time, we will cure cancer, save ourselves from nuclear
extinction, grow food for everybody, detoxify the results of industrial greed gone berserk– realize all
the wistful pipe dreams of our days" (Pynchon 6). Corresponding with what I said above, technology
is completely transforming human development at a

Advantages of Modern Agriculture
Advantages of modern agriculture
During the latter half of the twentieth century, what is known today as modern agriculture was
very successful in meeting a growing demand for food by the world's population. Yields of
primary crops such as rice and wheat increased dramatically, the price of food declined, the rate of
increase in crop yields generally kept pace with population growth, and the number of people who
consistently go hungry was slightly reduced. This boost in food production has been due mainly to
scientific advances and new technologies, including the development of new crop varieties, the use
of pesticides and fertilizers, and the construction of large irrigation systems.
Basic Practices of Modern Agricultural Systems

But for almost every benefit of modern agriculture, there are usually problems. Excessive tillage led
to soil degradation, the loss of organic matter, soil erosion by water and wind, and soil
compaction. Large monocultures are especially prone to devastating pest outbreaks that often
occur when pests encounter a large, uniform area of one crop species, requiring the continued and
excessive use of chemical sprays. When used excessively, chemical fertilizers can be easily
leached out of the soil into nearby streams and lakes, or even down into underground water
supplies. Farmers can become dependent on chemical pest and weed control. Modern farm
systems lack the natural control agents needed for biological pest management, andlarger amounts
of sprays must be used as pests rapidly evolve resistance. People also worry about chemical
pollution of the environment by sprays and fertilizers, and the possible contamination of food
supplies. Modern agriculture has become such a large user of water resources that overuse,
depletion, saltwater contamination, salt buildup in soil, fertilizer leaching, and soil erosion have
become all too common. Agricultural water users compete with urban and industrial use, and
wildlife as well. Hybrid seed has contributed greatly to the loss of genetic diversity and increased
risk of massive crop failure, as well as an

Throughout time the ways wars are fought and won are getting more and more difficult. It has
gone from using your smarts and your survival skills to winning a war by having the upper hand on
technology. This means having the bigger and better weapons. Stronger and faster aircrafts. The
military has become driven by technology. All military both in the United States and foreign
military forces depend on technology to win wars. Overtime technology has raised to such a degree
that warfare has actually come to the point that it is based on who has the most technological
advances in their power. One of the wars that brought major achievements to our history was the
Cold War. It began approximately in 1945 and lasted throughout 1991. It...show more content...

World War I began July 28, 1914 and lasted until November 11, 1918. It began shortly after the
assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was heir to the throne of Austria–Hungary. He was
assassinated by a Yugoslav nationalist and most historians believed this is what triggered the war.
There were two opposing sides to the war one was the Allies which was made up of the United
Kingdom Russia, and France. Their opponents were the Central Powers made up of Germany,
Austria–Hungary, and Italy. This was fought throughout the world this war was fought in places
like North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and China. The war ended on
November 11, 1918 but the official end of the war was with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles
on June 28, 1919. The Treaty of Versailles made Germany accept the responsibilities of causing the
war. During the war they made much use of wireless communication, armored cars, tanks, and
aircrafts. Artillery also underwent a revolution, cannons were positioned in the front line and

Modern technology and its disadvantages affect a person opportunity to contribute to society in a
social way. These disadvantages are lack of communication, loss of intimacy, the neglect of one's
surroundings. In "Alone Together", Sherry Turkle explains the disadvantages modern day
technology has on the life of common human beings. Through her observation, she notices
technology substituting basic human intimacy and neglecting one on one communication. Turkle
fears the extent of technology through the eyes of the beholder and how much of it can truly cut
off basic communication. In Alain de Botton's article "On Habit", de Botton explains the
advantages that can be obtained by viewing the world from a different perspective. He observes
the places around him as if he has never seen them thus allowing him to reverse the process of
habituation. Because of this, everything around him a gained value, which caused him to
appreciate the beauty of what he once deemed subtle. Both authors explain the concept of grids,
de Botton wanting to get out of it and Turkle explaining people's fears when it comes to getting
off it. Grids can keep the individual from living life by holding them back from the real world.
Technology holds a specific stronghold on this subject because of the illusions that it forms in
people's minds. The advantages of the internet can impede a person from experiencing what life has
to offer by keeping them trapped in the bubble that is the grid.
The grid allows humans to form relationships through technology because of vulnerability.
Technology allows a person to obtain intimacy without the need to do much. A person does not want
to face the outcomes and tribulations that come out from a relationship, thus turning to technology to
hide them from vulnerability. Thus, failing to create intimate relationships with one another which
is part of experiencing what life has to offer. Without that experience, a bubble will be crafted
around individuals. The bubble creates a barrier between individuals as a form of escape, escape
from the real world and everything that revolves around it. Due to the fear of intimacy, "Digital
connections and sociable robot may offer the illusion of companionship without the

modern life is unmeasurable, we use technology in different ways and sometimes the way we
implement various technologies ends up harming our lives or the society we leave in. What we call
modern technology is technically not so new in most cases. For example, mobile phone technology
has evolved with years, nowadays we use smartphones which have been an advancement of an
ordinary mobile phone.

Ultimately, however, innovation depends on the generation of creative, new ideas. Accordingly, the
literature bearing on the nature of creativity is reviewed to identify the conditions that influence
innovation. Observations about the nature of creativity are used to draw conclusions about the kind
of human resource management strategies that might enhance creativity. It is argued that
organizations should consider multiple interventions that take into account the individual, the group,
the organization, and the strategic environment when selecting interventions intended to enhance

The Impact Of Modern Digital Technology
From the way we think, to the way we communicate to the way we shop, modern digital technology
has influenced all aspects of our daily lives. Modern digital technology refers to social media, tablets,
smartphones, and laptops. Unfortunately, the education industry has been slow in adjusting to this
change. It's time for educators to keep up with the new generation by implementing modern digital
technology in the education system, as it will enhance a student's learning, and help develop practical
skills; opposed to the traditional model of education with minimum use of digital technology in
learning.
The Student Perspective
Technology is an easily accessible platform for students to collaborate, and assists in the development
of creativity and innovative ideas. Whether students are working together in–class or outside school,
modern technology allows students to share ideas, resources, and work together simultaneously.
Teacher B elaborated most of her students are fond of Google Drive, and it is especially useful for
group projects since students can work simultaneously on a report or a presentation, regardless of
their location. She further explained it has helped improve the quality of work, especially for reports.
She explained that students used to divide the contents of a report in half, then combine their
proportions together once finished. This resulted in an inconsistency of tone, and writing structure.
However, in the recent years she reported that Google has

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Technology
Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology Technology has changed every aspect of our lives,
whether it was for the better or for the worse. It has a positive impact on our lives because it allows
us to connect more with people that are farther away, and it grants us access to information about
anything. Unfortunately, it has changed our lives for the worse, too, it makes us over dependent on
technology, and it leads to a decline in face to face conversations. Technology that is constantly in
our face changes the way we think and carry out our everyday lives. For example, when you are
standing in a room full of people instead of conversing with others you would take out your phone
and engage yourself in this world that you have created. Integrated computers can benefit our daily
lives, because it allows us to resurface old information that was part of the old conversation
allowing a more personal conversation. The downside of this is that it could also resurface old
fights that you might have had. All of these positives or negatives can be seen in Black Mirror,
Her, Our Computers Ourselves, and Crispr Radiolab. The positive impact that technology plays
on our lives is that it allows us to connect with people that are far away from us, whether it be via
email, phone calls, or any form of social media. This is a good thing because generations before us
who didn't have the telephone or any other form of communication to talk to relatives far away

Benefits Of Technology Essay
Technology is increasingly becoming more prominent in the daily lives of the working class as
well as a child's education. Technology can be very helpful in certain times, but at other times it
seems as if we depend on it more than we are actually learning. Is technology more helpful than
harmful? This seems to be a dispute within this new age technology world we live in today.
Certainly, there are ways we can use the internet to help us obtain information, and having the
knowledge at our fingertips does have positive advantages in making our lives easier. However,
there are also large concerns in having this tool due to changing the way we learn, think, obtain
information, and how largely it can influence our daily decisions.

Is technology worth the risk of our children losing the ability to be able to converse with one
another? It is vitally important that we use old tactics like writing our own songs, but blend in
technology by taking notes from musicians or downloading one's own song for others to hear.
On one hand, technology does excite children, and helps them sit still for a lengthy period of time.
On the other hand, children still need to know the importance of being able to effectively write
their own music and develop a sense of self achievement without the aid of internet access. "The
teachers in Schools C and D were very clear about the necessity to balance the use of digital
technology with the opportunity to develop other musical skills and undertake other music
activities" (130). It is pertinent that we have a well–rounded balance using the internet, and a child's
own hidden talent, which is important for self–worth. If we are taking everything from someone
else's work, where is the success really coming from, and how can we deem it as our own?
Reading, writing, learning, and speaking proper English is incredibly important, but with the use of
technology our children are losing the ability to obtain and relay information. Due to the use of the
internet and google, children can type in whatever question they have at hand, see the answer,
answer the question, and forget it in a matter of minutes. It is ok to not know everything and try to

Technology has changed how we learn over the years. It has affected how things are taught, and how
they are received and processed by the students. Teachers could post any information on a specific
website that the teacher provided and the students can view and reply to the post. Students used to
have to bring home a textbook every night, but with the modern technology they have to log onto an
online textbook. There are some instructors who believe that pencil and paper are slowly dwindling
down into nothingness. Other educators believe that technology has helped benefit their students
educations and don't worry about pencil and paper.
Technology has its advantages and disadvantages in the classroom. Compared to the positive effects,
the negative nowhere near as long. Some of the negative effects include not paying attention in class,
not being on task, or even playing a game in the middle of a lecture. Wolpert says that "As
technology has played a bigger role in our lives, our skills in critical thinking and analysis have
declined, while our visual skills have improved". This means that students are paying more attention
to technology and visual stimulants than books and worksheets. They would rather look up the
answer than do the work themselves. "In other words, kids need to be taught when to stop clicking
and start thinking more carefully. Increasingly, teachers are equipping students with means to
evaluate websites rather than taking them at face value" (Simpson). This quote is supportive of the
statement made above. Students would prefer to take shortcuts than take the extra time to actually
learn about a subject. The article written by Rick Allen says "An initial assessment of the research on
the current generation of technology used to aid literacy yields interesting, if not lackluster, results".
Students are becoming more technology smart, but they still are not grasping the concept of learning
from a book that students can take home to read that is not on a screen.
There are many benefits of having technology in the classroom as well. Some of the benefits include
help with assignments, make communication between two different points on the world easier, and
lets the teacher assign homework even if

Benefit Of Modern Technology
Jacques Ellul once quoted, "Modern technology has become a total phenomenon for civilization,
the defining force of a new social order in which an efficiency is no longer an option but a
necessity imposed on all human activity." How many lives have been saved since the technology for
health situations was invented? This question should give a general idea of how important and
different lives would be without the use of technology. Mechanization has changed and improved
throughout these past years, which has impacted many of society's lives'. Modern technology is
beneficial to save many lives, improve education, but could be harmful to the planet and on the
living in many ways.
One of the benefits of why technology is important is for the machines that save lives when there
are accidents, or when someone has some type of medical problem who has to be rushed
immediately to a local hospital for immediate care. Local hospitals and clinics already have the
electronic devices set up for anyone in need. With this being said, there are high chances of when
people need urgent medical attention, and could be cured right away. The impact of mechanization
for medical care involves a couple main areas which include: the jobs with health care, global
economy, and aspect of human life. On the other hand, several machines have very high electronic
waves, which are too powerful for humans, that lead to deadly situations. There was one case where
a patient had went to a local hospital with

The Impact Of Modern Technology Essay
Living within the 21st century, we are exposed to a lot more science and technology. Technology
has allowed us to accomplish things we could not have done in the past with a bit more ease. New
and useful products are constantly being invented and perfected for our use. I believe everyone has
experienced the use of technology whether have they like it or not. I think modern technology has
made life more convenient. We pretty much eat, breathe, and sleep technology. We use it constantly,
technology increases our standard of living to make life simpler. Modern technology has improved
and made advances in the business sector, education, medical field, as well as our personal lives. In
my belief, the use of technology has totally changed our lives for the better.
Technology has provided a faster form of transportation on land, air, and sea. Solutions to health and
environmental issues, improved knowledge, and communication. The invention of the computer and
internet are two of the most significant features in technology and most widely used. What we can
do now with the click of a button we were not able to do that ten years ago. The accessibility of
on–line shopping, on– line banking and even on line classes, these advancements in technology
provides us with more freedom, and less consumption of our time and resources. The way we
communicate with each is much different than in the past. We now have easier access to

Technology has been evolving and changing for decades. Today's technology has a vast amount of
benefits. Or does it? While technology can make life easier and more enjoyable, it comes with many
disadvantages. Technology causes people to think differently than in the past, be lazy, have less
self–control and not be as social. While technology can be useful, the disadvantages of technology
outweigh the benefits and affects today's society negatively.
"I get fidgety, lose the thread, begin looking for something else to do", states Nicholas Carr, the
author of "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" (Carr) Technology has made humans think and process
information in a different way than in past years. When something is searched on the internet, a
great deal of sites pop up with information in a mere second. In his article, Carr states he, his
friends and colleagues have trouble focusing on lengthy readings as they read items today. This is
due to the learned practice of rapidly skimming the pages found on the internet. People go from one
page to another looking for quick and easy information, instead of reading the full page or article.
Even though people are still reading, it is not the deep, lengthy reading of multiple complex pages.
Instead of engaging and interpreting text, humans, thanks to technology, now search for information
and immediate answers. This weakens the capacity for deep reading ability (Carr). The internet
provides loads of information with instant and easy access,

Technology has changed modern society drastically, both positively and negatively. Technology has
influenced every aspect of our life, making it simpler but not necessarily better. Albert Einstein was
concerned about the advancement of technology. "I fear the day that technology will surpass our
human interaction."1 Undoubtedly, what has changed the most are communication, the spread of
information, and how business is practiced. Consequently, practically everyone knows how to use a
computer, connect to the Internet, or use a smartphone. This is demonstrated by the way the Internet
is used daily by millions of people to communicate, to sell, advertise, retrieve, and share information.

In order to be prepared to work in today's world, students must be competent in technology. Also,
online education and distance learning have changed how we get a college degree. There is less
interaction with the teacher, but you may be interacting with other students from anywhere in the
world or listening to a lecture through video conferencing.
Technology revolutionized the way we interact with each other, by using social networking websites
like Facebook and Twitter. From business networking to online dating, all have become so fast and
easy. Therefore, it has made it possible to connect with anyone at any time of the day or night,
through email, text or social media network.
There are constant new developments in the mobile industry. As a result, cell phones are much
more than tools for making phone calls. For example, we are using our mobile devices to surf the
Internet, send emails or texts, play games, take pictures or videos, do on–line banking, comment on
social media, listen to music, watch videos, download apps and much more. As they are getting
smaller, they are becoming smarter. The mobile industry is not just cell phones, it also includes the
iPod, IPad or any other device we take with us. This has lead to a huge competition between the
mobile companies to have the latest technology. As can be seen by the way Apple is constantly
updating the iPhone, and new Apps are being developed and the hardware is getting faster.

modern technology has simplified our lives. If you compare the type of housing we used to have
in 1900 and the architecture of houses today, the difference is very big. New architectural
technology has improved the types of housed we build now days. People with money can afford

Today, it is easier than ever to access information. If one can read and has access to the Internet,
he or she has virtually all of mankind's knowledge at his or her fingertips, whereas only a
generation ago, one would need to go to the library if he or she wanted to learn new information.
It seems that people today take this privilege for granted, not realizing that the ability to look up
on a search engine the average height of a giraffe, for example, would have been highly coveted
only fifty years ago. People can get knowledge with less effort today, but perhaps the wide variety
of sources we have access to presents a new set of challenges. While knowledge was a coveted
resource in the past, perhaps the ability to choose the most credible source when given a wide range
of options to choose from is more coveted today and in the future. Modern technology has vastly
impacted the way people participate in school, their community, and the world at large.
Modern technology is both a hindrance and a help on a student's education. In any given classroom,
one can often find students stealthily texting their friends or scrolling through Facebook on their
cellphones. Students are fascinated by the shiny pieces of technology in their pockets, especially
when the teacher is talking about something with which they are not particularly fascinated.
Although technology can detract from the learning experience, it can also add to it. Speaking from
experience, I am not sure how I would have written my eleventh grade research paper without the
Internet. My research paper had many sources, only two of which were physical books. The Internet
gave me access to information that the library simply did not have. While it has distracted many
students (including myself) from school, it is also an essential resource for many students'
schoolwork.
Similar to how it affects school, technology can both inhibit and assist participation in a community.
Anyone who has ever attempted to hold a conversation with someone on their cellphone has
experienced how it inhibits participation. It seems that technology has become an escape from the
real world for many people. While modern technology can serve to distract people from those in their

In Christian Lange's view "Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master." Basically,
Lange is saying Technology is like a coin which has both positive and negative sides. We are the
deciders, and we can choose how to use it. The overexploitation usage of technology should be
always eluded. If we use it for negative things, it will have a negative effect on our lives and vice
versa. Nobody would disagree with the development of technologies in any area but the progress
should be in an affirmative way, and they should not have any bad impact on the present. Technology
can have a great impact on users' psychological and physical health. Being overly connected can
cause mental problems like depression, narcissism, and distraction. Further affecting users' mental
health, usage of technology can also have deleterious impacts on physical health causing neck strain
and vision problems. Despite the occasional risk and hazard, there are many benefits of modern
technology. For instance, People use technology to become informed, to communicate with each
other, and to make new friends. Also, modern technology can improve the quality of life for humans
with new medical instrumentation and prevents many deaths from occurring. In conclusion, whether
we like it or not technology turn into a part of our daily lives, and it is not eliminated; technology
can be a double–edged sword it cannot be repudiated that technology has several helpful and harmful
effects in different sides of our lives.
On the one hand, there are so many benefits of developed technology in our daily life. Technology is
significant in humanity's growth because at any time of its development technology has made life
more comfortable and has opened some doors of opportunities for us that were unthinkable before. I
categorized the positive effects of technology on three main groups; medical technology,
long–distance communication, access to information. First of all, one of the very positive efficacies
that technology has given men is in the healthcare field. Think about the MRI scanners, x–ray
machines, and even the research equipment used daily. There are people to use it every day of the

The Pros and Cons of Technology Essay
The question of whether modern technological development has been beneficial or detrimental to
human beings is perhaps the most pressing question that faces our society. If technology is harmful,
then we need to minimize or eliminate the danger. If technology is not the source of the problems
and concerns that are frequently attributed to it, then we need to find another cause for the social
and psychological pressures faced by our society, so we can address these problems. Ever since the
advent of the Industrial Revolution, people have voiced complaints about the harmful effects of
technology. Therefore, we need to examine what Martin Heidegger, a twentieth–century German
philosopher, called "The Question Concerning Technology." In his...show more content...
Entire genres of popular music with revealing names, such as "Industrial" and "Techno" have also
arisen in recent decades. For example, "Industrial" music frequently deals with existential anguish,
alienation, and meaninglessness of life as important themes. Some "Industrial" bands, such as Nine
Inch Nails, have even produced multi–platinum albums and won important popular music awards.
These factors indicate that problem of technology pervades our society and culture, whether
consciously or subconsciously. And yet, in order to consider the problems posed by technology, it is
necessary to discover the nature of the problem. While examining arguments against modern
technology, I have encountered two main strands of thought concerning its dangers.
Perhaps one of the best critiques of the modern technological–industrial system can be found in FC's
document Industrial Society and Its Future, more commonly known as the "Unabomber Manifesto."
Because this text has had such a wide–ranging impact on our society, I will examine it first. Although
there are many discrepancies with the argument presented in the Manifesto, the concerns expressed
within it are valid. For the sake of discussion, I will focus mainly on the issues presented in the
Manifesto and the solution proposed therein, rather than on the argument itself.
In brief, FC's argument is that the present technological–industrial system

The Impact Of Modern Technology
We are living in an era where technology is evolving at an exponential rate. Not long ago, when in
need of driving directions, we pulled out a large folded street map from our vehicle's glove
compartment. Nowadays, we tap a few times on our smartphone or just ask Siri for directions.
Better yet, rather than visiting the local discount mart to replace our laundry detergent, we tell Alexa
to reorder it and have it shipped directly to our door. Throughout the day, we usetechnology to
routinely accomplish specific tasks or obtain information.
Even the simplest human actions performed for centuries, such as reading, have been made easier
with technology. It's quite possible you are reading this very essay on a piece of light–emitting
technology, rather than on paper printed with ink. Modern Technology has unbelievably improved
human capabilities beyond what we ever imagined 20 or 30 years ago. It is very apparent that
Technology has made human life better, by improving communications with each other, and healthier
by improving the diagnosis and treatment of illness.
Today, modern cellular and satellite communication networks continually broadcast voice and data
around the globe in milliseconds to our little handheld devices and computers. This data includes
everything from our favorite TV show to billions of dollars in electronic trades on the financial stock
markets. "All these modern communication technology tools have simplified the way humans and
businesses communicate"

many tools people need in education, medicine, communication, transportation, etc. However, using
it too often has its drawbacks as well. In most cases, the time of finishing projects is cut by more

Also, students today can talk with their teachers from home, and learn all the information from
the Internet and finish a research assignment that used to take days because of books, in a matter
of hours. But, students of the newer generations seem to have many problems with writing
complete sentences or spelling words because of the frequent usage of text messages and the
many hundreds of acronyms used to shorten texts. But besides memory problems, technology
usage can cause serious diseases as well. Health problems caused by technology have turned into
a big problem, especially among teenagers. People, especially teens, pay a high price for relying
on social media, video games, and TV, especially when it comes to sleep. The internet has become
an addiction, we need it like we need air to breathe. This addiction seems to be the cause of
several serious health problems such as sleep deprivation, vision problems, obesity, etc. Addiction
to technology has also made people lazy. Instead of going outside, playing sports and running
around, they would rather stare at a screen, inside and the only exercise they get is sitting up in
their chair and walking to the fridge for food. Even though the implementation of robots has reduced
the risk to human life because they can perform some risky jobs instead of humans, robots
themselves can create risky

  • 1. ABSTRACT Advantages and Disadvantages of Modern Technology Based on the Perception of 2nd Year BSAMT Students in PATTS College of Aeronautics Gabriel Anselmo Renz Bautista Adrian Borja Wilfredo Buhayo III Gino De Jesus Patrick Domingo Statement of the Problem This study sought to identify the advantages and disadvantages of modern technology based on the perception of 2nd year BSAMT students. Specifically it answers the following questions 1. What are the reasons of the students in using modern technology? 2. What are the effects of using modern technology in the learning of students? 3. How can the students maximize the use of technology in learning? Research Design The design of this study is a survey method which...show more content... 10. Respondents answered neither agree nor disagree in taking notes by using camera, it will be difficult to remember and understand the topic discussed. Agree because they will just lean to their picture notes therefore not reading or even studying it. Disagree because with their notes they can study them on their phones.11. Using laptops and projectors in class make learning more efficient is neither agree nor disagree. Agree because they can use laptops to help them in their studying habits, disagree because they tend to use notebooks and just prefer to listen to their instructors. Conclusions Based on the respondents answer and the researchers findings and interpretations. The researchers has derived conclusions that would give clarity to what this thesis is seeking to answer. 1. The reasons why students use modern technology in learning because it helps them in their studying habits and even doing their homework with ease. • 2. Technology Advantages And Disadvantages Essay The advancement of technology has led to controversy over its benefits and disadvantages. It is undeniable that technology is an essential part of our daily lives therefore, people form their opinions on its affect on humans as a whole. As technology progresses, humans have become accustomed to not rely on their minds and instead on technology, but this is not always negative because having technology at our fingertips has led to revolutionary advancements. The accessibility of the internet has made it simple for humans to learn information faster and easier than ever before, thus making life much simpler. To know and learn what we know now with a couple of words and a simple click is unbelievable. In the past it took people years...show more content... They claim they can live without these technological devices, but can they really? While the internet has given us the opportunity to access an an abundant amount of information to make us knowledgeable it has also helped us use this information to solve anything we desire. As Carr states in his article "Is Google Making Us Stupid?", "A fundamentally scientific enterprise, Google is motivated by a desire to use technology, in Eric Schmidt's words, ' to solve problems that have never been solved ever before"'(Carr 563). Think about it for a second, technology has solved so many problems in the world in unimaginable ways. Technology has jumped us from the stone age into present day. Just look at the world now; it has progressed so much. We enjoy various opportunities that never existed before technology, but in the end we are benefitting from this and we are the ones creating these opportunities as well. To support my statement above, in Thomas Pynchon's article " Is It O.K. To Be A Luddite?" he states " With the proper deployment of budget and computer time, we will cure cancer, save ourselves from nuclear extinction, grow food for everybody, detoxify the results of industrial greed gone berserk– realize all the wistful pipe dreams of our days" (Pynchon 6). Corresponding with what I said above, technology is completely transforming human development at a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Advantages of Modern Agriculture Advantages of modern agriculture During the latter half of the twentieth century, what is known today as modern agriculture was very successful in meeting a growing demand for food by the world's population. Yields of primary crops such as rice and wheat increased dramatically, the price of food declined, the rate of increase in crop yields generally kept pace with population growth, and the number of people who consistently go hungry was slightly reduced. This boost in food production has been due mainly to scientific advances and new technologies, including the development of new crop varieties, the use of pesticides and fertilizers, and the construction of large irrigation systems. Basic Practices of Modern Agricultural Systems Modern...show more content... But for almost every benefit of modern agriculture, there are usually problems. Excessive tillage led to soil degradation, the loss of organic matter, soil erosion by water and wind, and soil compaction. Large monocultures are especially prone to devastating pest outbreaks that often occur when pests encounter a large, uniform area of one crop species, requiring the continued and excessive use of chemical sprays. When used excessively, chemical fertilizers can be easily leached out of the soil into nearby streams and lakes, or even down into underground water supplies. Farmers can become dependent on chemical pest and weed control. Modern farm systems lack the natural control agents needed for biological pest management, andlarger amounts of sprays must be used as pests rapidly evolve resistance. People also worry about chemical pollution of the environment by sprays and fertilizers, and the possible contamination of food supplies. Modern agriculture has become such a large user of water resources that overuse, depletion, saltwater contamination, salt buildup in soil, fertilizer leaching, and soil erosion have become all too common. Agricultural water users compete with urban and industrial use, and wildlife as well. Hybrid seed has contributed greatly to the loss of genetic diversity and increased risk of massive crop failure, as well as an Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It has gone from using your smarts and your survival skills to winning a war by having the upper hand on technology. This means having the bigger and better weapons. Stronger and faster aircrafts. The military has become driven by technology. All military both in the United States and foreign military forces depend on technology to win wars. Overtime technology has raised to such a degree that warfare has actually come to the point that it is based on who has the most technological advances in their power. One of the wars that brought major achievements to our history was the Cold War. It began approximately in 1945 and lasted throughout 1991. It...show more content... World War I began July 28, 1914 and lasted until November 11, 1918. It began shortly after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was heir to the throne of Austria–Hungary. He was assassinated by a Yugoslav nationalist and most historians believed this is what triggered the war. There were two opposing sides to the war one was the Allies which was made up of the United Kingdom Russia, and France. Their opponents were the Central Powers made up of Germany, Austria–Hungary, and Italy. This was fought throughout the world this war was fought in places like North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and China. The war ended on November 11, 1918 but the official end of the war was with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. The Treaty of Versailles made Germany accept the responsibilities of causing the war. During the war they made much use of wireless communication, armored cars, tanks, and aircrafts. • 5. Modern technology and its disadvantages affect a person opportunity to contribute to society in a social way. These disadvantages are lack of communication, loss of intimacy, the neglect of one's surroundings. In "Alone Together", Sherry Turkle explains the disadvantages modern day technology has on the life of common human beings. Through her observation, she notices technology substituting basic human intimacy and neglecting one on one communication. Turkle fears the extent of technology through the eyes of the beholder and how much of it can truly cut off basic communication. In Alain de Botton's article "On Habit", de Botton explains the advantages that can be obtained by viewing the world from a different perspective. He observes the places around him as if he has never seen them thus allowing him to reverse the process of habituation. Because of this, everything around him a gained value, which caused him to appreciate the beauty of what he once deemed subtle. Both authors explain the concept of grids, de Botton wanting to get out of it and Turkle explaining people's fears when it comes to getting off it. Grids can keep the individual from living life by holding them back from the real world. Technology holds a specific stronghold on this subject because of the illusions that it forms in people's minds. The advantages of the internet can impede a person from experiencing what life has to offer by keeping them trapped in the bubble that is the grid. The grid allows humans to form relationships through technology because of vulnerability. Technology allows a person to obtain intimacy without the need to do much. A person does not want to face the outcomes and tribulations that come out from a relationship, thus turning to technology to hide them from vulnerability. Thus, failing to create intimate relationships with one another which is part of experiencing what life has to offer. Without that experience, a bubble will be crafted around individuals. The bubble creates a barrier between individuals as a form of escape, escape from the real world and everything that revolves around it. Due to the fear of intimacy, "Digital connections and sociable robot may offer the illusion of companionship without the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Disadvantages Of Modern Technology Modern technology is simply an advancement of old technology, the impact of technology in modern life is unmeasurable, we use technology in different ways and sometimes the way we implement various technologies ends up harming our lives or the society we leave in. What we call modern technology is technically not so new in most cases. For example, mobile phone technology has evolved with years, nowadays we use smartphones which have been an advancement of an ordinary mobile phone. Technology is applied to the roles each individual fulfills during life. We use technology on a daily basis to accomplish specific tasks or interests. Ultimately, however, innovation depends on the generation of creative, new ideas. Accordingly, the literature bearing on the nature of creativity is reviewed to identify the conditions that influence innovation. Observations about the nature of creativity are used to draw conclusions about the kind of human resource management strategies that might enhance creativity. It is argued that organizations should consider multiple interventions that take into account the individual, the group, the organization, and the strategic environment when selecting interventions intended to enhance Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Impact Of Modern Digital Technology From the way we think, to the way we communicate to the way we shop, modern digital technology has influenced all aspects of our daily lives. Modern digital technology refers to social media, tablets, smartphones, and laptops. Unfortunately, the education industry has been slow in adjusting to this change. It's time for educators to keep up with the new generation by implementing modern digital technology in the education system, as it will enhance a student's learning, and help develop practical skills; opposed to the traditional model of education with minimum use of digital technology in learning. The Student Perspective Technology is an easily accessible platform for students to collaborate, and assists in the development of creativity and innovative ideas. Whether students are working together in–class or outside school, modern technology allows students to share ideas, resources, and work together simultaneously. Teacher B elaborated most of her students are fond of Google Drive, and it is especially useful for group projects since students can work simultaneously on a report or a presentation, regardless of their location. She further explained it has helped improve the quality of work, especially for reports. She explained that students used to divide the contents of a report in half, then combine their proportions together once finished. This resulted in an inconsistency of tone, and writing structure. • 8. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Technology Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology Technology has changed every aspect of our lives, whether it was for the better or for the worse. It has a positive impact on our lives because it allows us to connect more with people that are farther away, and it grants us access to information about anything. Unfortunately, it has changed our lives for the worse, too, it makes us over dependent on technology, and it leads to a decline in face to face conversations. Technology that is constantly in our face changes the way we think and carry out our everyday lives. For example, when you are standing in a room full of people instead of conversing with others you would take out your phone and engage yourself in this world that you have created. Integrated computers can benefit our daily lives, because it allows us to resurface old information that was part of the old conversation allowing a more personal conversation. The downside of this is that it could also resurface old fights that you might have had. All of these positives or negatives can be seen in Black Mirror, Her, Our Computers Ourselves, and Crispr Radiolab. The positive impact that technology plays on our lives is that it allows us to connect with people that are far away from us, whether it be via email, phone calls, or any form of social media. This is a good thing because generations before us who didn't have the telephone or any other form of communication to talk to relatives far away would live their entire Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Benefits Of Technology Essay Technology is increasingly becoming more prominent in the daily lives of the working class as well as a child's education. Technology can be very helpful in certain times, but at other times it seems as if we depend on it more than we are actually learning. Is technology more helpful than harmful? This seems to be a dispute within this new age technology world we live in today. Certainly, there are ways we can use the internet to help us obtain information, and having the knowledge at our fingertips does have positive advantages in making our lives easier. However, there are also large concerns in having this tool due to changing the way we learn, think, obtain information, and how largely it can influence our daily decisions. The...show more content... Is technology worth the risk of our children losing the ability to be able to converse with one another? It is vitally important that we use old tactics like writing our own songs, but blend in technology by taking notes from musicians or downloading one's own song for others to hear. On one hand, technology does excite children, and helps them sit still for a lengthy period of time. On the other hand, children still need to know the importance of being able to effectively write their own music and develop a sense of self achievement without the aid of internet access. "The teachers in Schools C and D were very clear about the necessity to balance the use of digital technology with the opportunity to develop other musical skills and undertake other music activities" (130). It is pertinent that we have a well–rounded balance using the internet, and a child's own hidden talent, which is important for self–worth. If we are taking everything from someone else's work, where is the success really coming from, and how can we deem it as our own? Reading, writing, learning, and speaking proper English is incredibly important, but with the use of technology our children are losing the ability to obtain and relay information. Due to the use of the internet and google, children can type in whatever question they have at hand, see the answer, answer the question, and forget it in a matter of minutes. It is ok to not know everything and try to find Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Technology has changed how we learn over the years. It has affected how things are taught, and how they are received and processed by the students. Teachers could post any information on a specific website that the teacher provided and the students can view and reply to the post. Students used to have to bring home a textbook every night, but with the modern technology they have to log onto an online textbook. There are some instructors who believe that pencil and paper are slowly dwindling down into nothingness. Other educators believe that technology has helped benefit their students educations and don't worry about pencil and paper. Technology has its advantages and disadvantages in the classroom. Compared to the positive effects, the negative nowhere near as long. Some of the negative effects include not paying attention in class, not being on task, or even playing a game in the middle of a lecture. Wolpert says that "As technology has played a bigger role in our lives, our skills in critical thinking and analysis have declined, while our visual skills have improved". This means that students are paying more attention to technology and visual stimulants than books and worksheets. They would rather look up the answer than do the work themselves. "In other words, kids need to be taught when to stop clicking and start thinking more carefully. Increasingly, teachers are equipping students with means to evaluate websites rather than taking them at face value" (Simpson). This quote is supportive of the statement made above. Students would prefer to take shortcuts than take the extra time to actually learn about a subject. The article written by Rick Allen says "An initial assessment of the research on the current generation of technology used to aid literacy yields interesting, if not lackluster, results". Students are becoming more technology smart, but they still are not grasping the concept of learning from a book that students can take home to read that is not on a screen. There are many benefits of having technology in the classroom as well. Some of the benefits include help with assignments, make communication between two different points on the world easier, and lets the teacher assign homework even if Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Benefit Of Modern Technology Jacques Ellul once quoted, "Modern technology has become a total phenomenon for civilization, the defining force of a new social order in which an efficiency is no longer an option but a necessity imposed on all human activity." How many lives have been saved since the technology for health situations was invented? This question should give a general idea of how important and different lives would be without the use of technology. Mechanization has changed and improved throughout these past years, which has impacted many of society's lives'. Modern technology is beneficial to save many lives, improve education, but could be harmful to the planet and on the living in many ways. One of the benefits of why technology is important is for the machines that save lives when there are accidents, or when someone has some type of medical problem who has to be rushed immediately to a local hospital for immediate care. Local hospitals and clinics already have the electronic devices set up for anyone in need. With this being said, there are high chances of when people need urgent medical attention, and could be cured right away. The impact of mechanization for medical care involves a couple main areas which include: the jobs with health care, global economy, and aspect of human life. On the other hand, several machines have very high electronic waves, which are too powerful for humans, that lead to deadly situations. There was one case where a patient had went to a local hospital with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. The Impact Of Modern Technology Essay Living within the 21st century, we are exposed to a lot more science and technology. Technology has allowed us to accomplish things we could not have done in the past with a bit more ease. New and useful products are constantly being invented and perfected for our use. I believe everyone has experienced the use of technology whether have they like it or not. I think modern technology has made life more convenient. We pretty much eat, breathe, and sleep technology. We use it constantly, technology increases our standard of living to make life simpler. Modern technology has improved and made advances in the business sector, education, medical field, as well as our personal lives. In my belief, the use of technology has totally changed our lives for the better. Technology has provided a faster form of transportation on land, air, and sea. Solutions to health and environmental issues, improved knowledge, and communication. The invention of the computer and internet are two of the most significant features in technology and most widely used. What we can do now with the click of a button we were not able to do that ten years ago. The accessibility of on–line shopping, on– line banking and even on line classes, these advancements in technology provides us with more freedom, and less consumption of our time and resources. • 13. Technology Advantages And Disadvantages Essay Technology has been evolving and changing for decades. Today's technology has a vast amount of benefits. Or does it? While technology can make life easier and more enjoyable, it comes with many disadvantages. Technology causes people to think differently than in the past, be lazy, have less self–control and not be as social. While technology can be useful, the disadvantages of technology outweigh the benefits and affects today's society negatively. "I get fidgety, lose the thread, begin looking for something else to do", states Nicholas Carr, the author of "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" (Carr) Technology has made humans think and process information in a different way than in past years. When something is searched on the internet, a great deal of sites pop up with information in a mere second. In his article, Carr states he, his friends and colleagues have trouble focusing on lengthy readings as they read items today. This is due to the learned practice of rapidly skimming the pages found on the internet. People go from one page to another looking for quick and easy information, instead of reading the full page or article. Even though people are still reading, it is not the deep, lengthy reading of multiple complex pages. Instead of engaging and interpreting text, humans, thanks to technology, now search for information and immediate answers. This weakens the capacity for deep reading ability (Carr). The internet provides loads of information with instant and easy access, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology Technology has changed modern society drastically, both positively and negatively. Technology has influenced every aspect of our life, making it simpler but not necessarily better. Albert Einstein was concerned about the advancement of technology. "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction."1 Undoubtedly, what has changed the most are communication, the spread of information, and how business is practiced. Consequently, practically everyone knows how to use a computer, connect to the Internet, or use a smartphone. This is demonstrated by the way the Internet is used daily by millions of people to communicate, to sell, advertise, retrieve, and share information. Also, online education and distance learning have changed how we get a college degree. There is less interaction with the teacher, but you may be interacting with other students from anywhere in the world or listening to a lecture through video conferencing. Technology revolutionized the way we interact with each other, by using social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter. From business networking to online dating, all have become so fast and easy. Therefore, it has made it possible to connect with anyone at any time of the day or night, through email, text or social media network. There are constant new developments in the mobile industry. As a result, cell phones are much more than tools for making phone calls. For example, we are using our mobile devices to surf the Internet, send emails or texts, play games, take pictures or videos, do on–line banking, comment on social media, listen to music, watch videos, download apps and much more. As they are getting smaller, they are becoming smarter. The mobile industry is not just cell phones, it also includes the iPod, IPad or any other device we take with us. This has lead to a huge competition between the mobile companies to have the latest technology. As can be seen by the way Apple is constantly updating the iPhone, and new Apps are being developed and the hardware is getting faster. Technology Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Today, it is easier than ever to access information. If one can read and has access to the Internet, he or she has virtually all of mankind's knowledge at his or her fingertips, whereas only a generation ago, one would need to go to the library if he or she wanted to learn new information. It seems that people today take this privilege for granted, not realizing that the ability to look up on a search engine the average height of a giraffe, for example, would have been highly coveted only fifty years ago. People can get knowledge with less effort today, but perhaps the wide variety of sources we have access to presents a new set of challenges. While knowledge was a coveted resource in the past, perhaps the ability to choose the most credible source when given a wide range of options to choose from is more coveted today and in the future. Modern technology has vastly impacted the way people participate in school, their community, and the world at large. Modern technology is both a hindrance and a help on a student's education. In any given classroom, one can often find students stealthily texting their friends or scrolling through Facebook on their cellphones. Students are fascinated by the shiny pieces of technology in their pockets, especially when the teacher is talking about something with which they are not particularly fascinated. Although technology can detract from the learning experience, it can also add to it. Speaking from experience, I am not sure how I would have written my eleventh grade research paper without the Internet. My research paper had many sources, only two of which were physical books. The Internet gave me access to information that the library simply did not have. While it has distracted many students (including myself) from school, it is also an essential resource for many students' schoolwork. Similar to how it affects school, technology can both inhibit and assist participation in a community. Anyone who has ever attempted to hold a conversation with someone on their cellphone has experienced how it inhibits participation. It seems that technology has become an escape from the real world for many people. While modern technology can serve to distract people from those in their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. In Christian Lange's view "Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master." Basically, Lange is saying Technology is like a coin which has both positive and negative sides. We are the deciders, and we can choose how to use it. The overexploitation usage of technology should be always eluded. If we use it for negative things, it will have a negative effect on our lives and vice versa. Nobody would disagree with the development of technologies in any area but the progress should be in an affirmative way, and they should not have any bad impact on the present. Technology can have a great impact on users' psychological and physical health. Being overly connected can cause mental problems like depression, narcissism, and distraction. Further affecting users' mental health, usage of technology can also have deleterious impacts on physical health causing neck strain and vision problems. Despite the occasional risk and hazard, there are many benefits of modern technology. For instance, People use technology to become informed, to communicate with each other, and to make new friends. Also, modern technology can improve the quality of life for humans with new medical instrumentation and prevents many deaths from occurring. In conclusion, whether we like it or not technology turn into a part of our daily lives, and it is not eliminated; technology can be a double–edged sword it cannot be repudiated that technology has several helpful and harmful effects in different sides of our lives. On the one hand, there are so many benefits of developed technology in our daily life. Technology is significant in humanity's growth because at any time of its development technology has made life more comfortable and has opened some doors of opportunities for us that were unthinkable before. I categorized the positive effects of technology on three main groups; medical technology, long–distance communication, access to information. First of all, one of the very positive efficacies that technology has given men is in the healthcare field. Think about the MRI scanners, x–ray machines, and even the research equipment used daily. • 18. The Pros and Cons of Technology Essay The question of whether modern technological development has been beneficial or detrimental to human beings is perhaps the most pressing question that faces our society. If technology is harmful, then we need to minimize or eliminate the danger. If technology is not the source of the problems and concerns that are frequently attributed to it, then we need to find another cause for the social and psychological pressures faced by our society, so we can address these problems. Ever since the advent of the Industrial Revolution, people have voiced complaints about the harmful effects of technology. Therefore, we need to examine what Martin Heidegger, a twentieth–century German philosopher, called "The Question Concerning Technology." In his...show more content... Entire genres of popular music with revealing names, such as "Industrial" and "Techno" have also arisen in recent decades. For example, "Industrial" music frequently deals with existential anguish, alienation, and meaninglessness of life as important themes. Some "Industrial" bands, such as Nine Inch Nails, have even produced multi–platinum albums and won important popular music awards. These factors indicate that problem of technology pervades our society and culture, whether consciously or subconsciously. And yet, in order to consider the problems posed by technology, it is necessary to discover the nature of the problem. While examining arguments against modern technology, I have encountered two main strands of thought concerning its dangers. Perhaps one of the best critiques of the modern technological–industrial system can be found in FC's document Industrial Society and Its Future, more commonly known as the "Unabomber Manifesto." Because this text has had such a wide–ranging impact on our society, I will examine it first. Although there are many discrepancies with the argument presented in the Manifesto, the concerns expressed within it are valid. For the sake of discussion, I will focus mainly on the issues presented in the Manifesto and the solution proposed therein, rather than on the argument itself. In brief, FC's argument is that the present technological–industrial system Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. The Impact Of Modern Technology We are living in an era where technology is evolving at an exponential rate. Not long ago, when in need of driving directions, we pulled out a large folded street map from our vehicle's glove compartment. Nowadays, we tap a few times on our smartphone or just ask Siri for directions. Better yet, rather than visiting the local discount mart to replace our laundry detergent, we tell Alexa to reorder it and have it shipped directly to our door. Throughout the day, we usetechnology to routinely accomplish specific tasks or obtain information. Even the simplest human actions performed for centuries, such as reading, have been made easier with technology. It's quite possible you are reading this very essay on a piece of light–emitting technology, rather than on paper printed with ink. Modern Technology has unbelievably improved human capabilities beyond what we ever imagined 20 or 30 years ago. It is very apparent that Technology has made human life better, by improving communications with each other, and healthier by improving the diagnosis and treatment of illness. Today, modern cellular and satellite communication networks continually broadcast voice and data around the globe in milliseconds to our little handheld devices and computers. This data includes everything from our favorite TV show to billions of dollars in electronic trades on the financial stock markets. People all over the world use and benefit from modern technology. Technology has simplified the access to many tools people need in education, medicine, communication, transportation, etc. However, using it too often has its drawbacks as well. In most cases, the time of finishing projects is cut by more than half with the help of technology. Many people do not realize that technology has its negative affects society as well, and its rapid advances has changed life for worse in a number of different ways. People, especially teens, pay a high price for relying on social media, video games, and TV, especially when it comes to sleep. The internet has become an addiction, we need it like we need air to breathe. This addiction seems to be the cause of several serious health problems such as sleep deprivation, vision problems, obesity, etc. Addiction to technology has also made people lazy. Instead of going outside, playing sports and running around, they would rather stare at a screen, inside and the only exercise they get is sitting up in their chair and walking to the fridge for food.
