1. Dear Sir/Madam:
Monster Job Results Thursday, (Sept 22, 2005) has caught my interest and it is in this
light that I would like to apply as Manufacturing Engineer (Trainee) in your company.
This position positively suits my educational and my work experience. Furthermore, it is
in this field that I would like to specialize in the future.
In 1996, I finished a degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in the
Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines. Following this, I was engaged by
Procter & Gamble Philippines to work as a Product Supply Engineer for 5 years. In
Procter & Gamble, I was assigned under the Logistics Department where my duties
included supervising, maintaining and troubleshooting Conveyor and Palletizing
machines as well as other automated equipments.
As part of the skills block of the P&G system, I was likewise entrusted with the following
tasks: Dock Management, Warehousing, Case picking, Customer Service and Logistics
Technical Support. Furthermore, I handled parallel systems termed "Autonomous
Maintenance System" which ensures the safety, promptness and speed of maintaining,
repairing and lowering the maintenance cost using Lift truck as the AM Equipment.
Apart from all this, my well-rounded interest also led me to participating in many other
activities. One of which is taking a few courses in Japanese. The basics in Conversational
Japanese would certainly be of help in the future since Japan is one of the countries that
excel in the field of engineering.
As an employee, I am detail-oriented and very well organized; a quick learner and one
who takes the initiative to perform a task with little to no supervision.
I am presently as a Stationary Engineer at California Drop Forge. I have passed my
Steam Engineer (unlimited) exam lst Aug 31, 2005. My main duty here as a 3rd
shift
engineer is to raise the pressure of the boiler to the normal operating pressure before the
start of the Forge Shop Line to run their hammers in the morning; manually adjust
(alternating) seven steam valves to each lines which are designated to run to prevent the
boiler from running out of steam. Other part of my job is to maintain the water softness in
the brine tank, manually add some bags of salt as needed. I also support in supervising
leader in re building the boiler furnace, replacing the old burner with a new low nox
burner.
We have 2 maintenance shut down every year, my other role in every shutdown is a
safety coordinator, identifying risk prediction before we start our maintenance, every
June we have a Safety personnel from the insurance company to inspect all our pressure
vessels. We make sure that everything passes according to their recommendations and to
the standards of the city’s Laws.
2. I also worked as a Licensed Nurse Assistant at the Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills
California operated by Care Advantage Agency. I assist nurses in handling their patients
in accordance to JACHO, OSHA & Public Health & Safety standards.
I am interested in pursuing positions that will allow me to utilize my computer and
technical skills and apply what I have learned in school. My enthusiasm, interest and
inquisitiveness at work superbly manifest in this field.
