1. Props: In this photo, no props are being used, and all
the attention is on her.
Lighting: High key lighting is being used, and there
isn’t any shadowing on her – except from where her
makeup cuts into her face.
Costume: There is no costume, as the whole image is
of her face. Her hair has been made fuller to make up
for the lack of costume.
Position: The model is looking directly into the
camera, which breaks the fourth wall. This makes it
more personal for the reader
Framing: As the image is a close up, she remains the
focus of the cover. The main focus is her face with the
text put around her.

2. Props: In this photo, the only prop are his glasses –
causing him to remain hidden, although fans will
know who it is
Lighting: High key lighting is being used, and the
reflection of the light can be seen through his glasses.
There is slight shadowing which shows that it is being
used higher up, as they are looking directly into the
camera.
Costume: They are both wearing different outfits, but
are free in what they wear. They want to relate to the
audience as they are ‘exactly what this generation
needs’ so they are dressing similar to the generation
they’re addressing
Position: All of the band are centred in the image,
and they are both breaking the fourth wall by looking
directly into the camera. Also one of them has their
arms crosses – conforming to masculine stereotypes.
Framing: The band take up the majority of the cover,
with text layered over them. Their heads overlap the
masthead – making them recognisable.

3. Props: In this photo, no props are being used.
Although glitter is being used on them and behind
them in the image
Lighting: High key lighting is being used, as they want
to stand out. Although there is slight shadowing on
some band members, which suggests that they are
looking directly into the lighting.
Costume: The band are wearing all white clothing –
which allows both genders to wear so they aren’t
stereotyping a particular gender. Also it draws
attention to the gold glitter and away from what
they’re wearing.
Position: All of the band are centred in the image,
but not all of them are looking directly into the
camera, they are still breaking the fourth wall in
order to create this look.
Framing: The band take up around 75% of the whole
cover – with limited amount of text layering over
them.
