Dorothy Perkins In-store radio show review
1. In-store Radio – Dorothy Perkins – Review
I think the introduction was strong as both me and Shauna introduced the show, it was
more of a spontaneous introduction which is why I think it worked better. We introduced
the 1st song then let the song fade then faded in the 2nd song, because of the song started.
We then let the 2nd song finish as it ends suddenly, then faded into a jingle. After the jingle I
reminded the listener of the previous song just played then introduced the 3rd song.
After the 3rd song we faded it into the 4th song, which was quite difficult as the 3rd song was
upbeat and the 4th song was a slower one. After the 4th song finished, we faded a jingle into
it then spoke about the previous song. Shauna introduced the 5th song. After the 5th song
ended, we faded it into the 6th song, this could’ve been done better as the 5th song ends on
lyrics and the 6th song starts on lyrics. We could’ve realised this and changed the order of
the songs to fit it better.
After the 6th song, we played a jingle then spoke about the previous songs. Then we talked
about in-store offers at Dorothy Perkins, such as spring offers, this could’ve been improved
by talking more about the offers, like a casual conversation between me and Shauna. Then
we introduced the 7th song. I think going into this song was the best one as the song starts
with lyrics and it fit perfectly.
After the 7th song, we faded it into the 8th song, which was a different tempo and style so it
could’ve been better. Also as we about to start playing the 8th song, the slider got stuck and
it froze for a few seconds. After this 8th song, we played a jingle which could’ve been done
much better. We then reminded the listener of the previous song again, then introduced the
next song which faded good.
The fade from the 8th song to the 9th song was good as the end of the 8th song ends slowly
and the 9th song was an acoustic cover which faded in nicely. After the 9 th song, we played a
jingle which could’ve been faded better. Then we talked about the song and more about
information about casual dressing and the offers across accessories.
Then we introduced the 10th song which faded in nicely. After the 10th song, Shauna talked
about having the same birthday as the singer, then she introduced the 11th song, to which I
corrected her on the artist name of Bill Medley, (not melody). After the 11 th song, we played
a jingle, then spoke about the previous artist then introduced the 12 th song. During the end
of the 12th song, we faded the song a little and spoke about ending the show, just as we
were joined by Ryan and Olivia, then we ended the show.
Overall, I think me and Shauna spoke clearly but could’ve spoke with more enthusiasm like
at the beginning. We had a couple times when we froze as we either couldn’t get out words
out or we were getting information up on our screens which we should’ve been prepared
for.
