• Making an impact in the physical world
is not a hard task when you are a civil
engineer consultant in the
transportation field…
…but making an impact on PEOPLE
is my passion.
Leadership Impacts
Children and women development is the passion that drives me,
which is why I have lead and created two movements:
TransportationYOUth
A program designed to expose middle-
school children to the STEM fields
(focusing on transportation engineering)
through interactions with industry
professionals, hands-on activities,
presentations, and mentoring programs.
LIFT: Lasting Impact for Tomorrow
A program that aims to recruit, develop,
and retain women in my company and
helping them reach their full potential
by offering career development
training, tools to deal with gender
inequality, and support for
mothers/families .
TransportationYOUth
It started with 15 students and a one hour session…
TransportationYOUth
It grew to 120 students in 3 one-hour sessions!!!
Takeaways & Impacts
• Exposing children from a young age to understand
engineering and the great careers available to them in
STEM (science, technology, engineering, medicine).
• Doing something for the love and passion of
contributing to society is sometimes more impactful
and gratifying that doing something for a salary.
My greatest takeaway… “Thank you for today! I loved it! I
want to be just like you when I
grow up, a transportation
engineer" - 10 year old girl
Lasting Impact for Tomorrow (LIFT)
• I’m passionate about organizing, hosting, participating, and learning
from this program that involves:
• Monthly TED talk presentations and career development discussions
• Monthly trainings on building confidence, improving body language,
breaking stereotypes, and other gender-related topics.
• Quarterly discussions/brainstorming on company benefits
• Speaking up, raising awareness, and actively participating is crucial in
being able to retain women in the workforce.. We need to re-socialize
women AND MEN.
 It is important to me to put my grain of sand to the women’s
revolution and not only continue to see the small impacts, but
someday see true equality in my children’s generation!

“Gender equality is not a woman’s issue, it
is a human issue. It affects us all.”
Adapting to everybody’s unique characteristics is key for the
success of everybody!
