I shall now tell you what culture means to me…

2. W H AT C U LT U R E M E A N S T O M E ?
 To me culture means different people with
different styles, music in its different forms,
imagination turned into a piece of art, delicious
foods from all around the world and even myself,
because I’m a part of our culture too. Every
person matters, every thing matters. Without my
parents there wouldn’t be me and without my
friends I wouldn’t be who I am.

3. I M P O R T A N T F O R M S O F C U LT U R E
 Art is a very important form of culture to me. I love the fact that there are so many
different types of art, like music, visual arts and literature.
 Media plays a big part in my life. It’s always changing and evolving and so am I. I’ve
grown hand in hand with media, because I’ve been sitting in front of the computer since
I was young. I’ve also been watching TV, reading magazines and newspapers for a long
time.
 When I started acting more like a teenager, subcultures became intresting too. In
secondary school I had a period when I dressed mostly in black, had black hair and very
strong eye make up. I tried to copy the style of ”emo”s. Later on I’ve changed my styles
couple of times and nowadays I prefer comfy and warm clothes with nice colors.

4. • Music has always been close to me, • Visual arts are important to me,
because I’ve played kantele since I was because I’ve always loved painting

check it daily, reblog things that I like (mostly inspiring photos) and follow
other interesting blogs. At first I didn’t believe that I’d become more or less
addicted, but in the end it just happened.

6. • Youtube is also
one of the most
important
websites to me. It
has helped me to
find some great
artists like Fink,
Bonobo,
Winterplay and
Electic Guest. It’s
also a place to
watch funny cat
videos to cheer up
if I’m feeling
down for some
reason.

7. M E A S A C U LT U R E C O N S U M E R
 I see myself more like a lowbrow culture consumer, because I
prefer watching movies to well known operas (for example The
Marriage of Figaro). It doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t like highbrow
culture, but I just like lowbrow culture more. It’s also very hard to
relate to highbrow culture, wherears lowbrow culture can express
contemporary everyday life and that way I can relate to it easier.
