2. CLASS GRADES:
Averages are determined by the following:
• Homework and participation- 10%
• Cumulative Reviews- 10%
• Quizzes- 25%
• Benchmark Tests- 10% (1 per quarter)
• Tests- 45%
Homework is assigned almost daily. It is either checked the next day or collected. My
policy is simple, “Do it and receive 2 points, don’t do it and receive a 0.” No homework will
be accepted late without an excuse. If you are absent, you have 2 class days to make up
the work (with an excuse). 1 point is given if you do half of the assignment.
Tests, quizzes and cumulative reviews dates are posted at the beginning of the chapter.
Review for each exam will be done in class the day before the exam. If you are absent for
the review, you still have to take the test the next day. If you are absent the day
of the test, you will take it the next day you are in class. There are no exceptions to
this rule!
HVCC Part of the class:
If you choose to take this class for HVCC credit, your HVCC grade will be calculated the
following way:
37.5% Quarter 1
37.5% Quarter 2
25% Final
Only test scores count for your HVCC grade. Your HVCC Final will be given in January. This
final is also the midterm of the Albany High Intermediate Algebra class.
The cost of this class is $50/ credit. If you earn above a 70%, you will earn 3 HVCC
credits. The cost to take this course is $150.
