Descriptive Essay About Soccer City
Hidden deep in the streets of Sunny Ridge, a neighborhood, lies a whole new soccer world open to everyone. Soccer City brings an exhalating
sports atmosphere that anyone that is willing to learn to play soccer can excel. As guests walk in through the doors of the entrance at soccer city
all they hear are the thunderous roars of a soccer ball being kicked against the walls. The trainlike whistles of the referees stopping the ball for a
foul, all while trying to calm the opposing teams from getting into an argument. The smell of hard work, but mostly sweat of the players trying to
score for their teams. These are just a few of the components that makes soccer city such a wonderful place unlike any other. Soccer City, with all of
its components, really outlines the true identity of soccer and how everyone of all ages can come together to play a game and work towards a
common goal; to score goals.
When walking through the entrance at soccer city the complete floorplan of the whole indoor complex can be seen below. In the center of the
complex, there are benches to rest on, and a concession stand facing right in that direction. This encourages players to sit down and take a bite as
they anxiously wait for their game or just for visitors grab a snack and watch soccer. Since the benches and the concession area is centered in the
middle of the complex on both sides there is a soccer field that allows for the accommodation of eating while watching these warlike games going
on as players seem to fight each other vigorously chasing down a ball that keeps on rolling. This effect of having the concession stand allows the
aroma of food to be around in the air and it makes the customers that come to ply soccer also eat at soccer city and not elsewhere which further
increases sales at soccer city by people buying food there between games and not eating at any other restaurants Upon walking through the doors, the
loud chatter of people urgently calling for teammates to get the ball, or the thunderous sounds the ball makes when it hits against the field walls soon
fills ears and connects people instantly with the live atmosphere. This noisy atmosphere isn't for everyone but for those rowdy soccer players this is
paradise.

Why Is Soccer Better Than Basketball
ou can agree with me that soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Basket in the other hand is one of the popular sport in the world, but not the
most popular sport. Many people might agree with me that soccer is the best, and it's better than basketball, that's why it's called the people sport.
Soccer is my favorite sport, and I think it's better than basketball because, a soccer game does not take longer compare to a basketball game. I also
think soccer is the best because, it has other spots in it that you may not know. Like for example, just like in the basketball you can touch a soccer
ball with your hand, only goalkeeper, player can touch it if they are about to throw in. If you play soccer you will see your dream, like Cristiano ... Show

First I will show you what they have in common. Soccer and Basketball are both sports, we know that, but did you know they are very similar
sport except for the part one doesn't end in a ball(soccer). Anyway, Soccer and basket are similar for example, both sport have rules, they both have
more than 3 players, both sport have two teams, and the team has a captain and in a likely manner both team players earn good money. Those two
sports are great sport, but there has to be one that is better than the other. I know what it is, it's soccer because soccer is the most popular sport in the
world, and basketball fall in top 10 most popular sport, but it's at 9th place. I also say soccer is better than basketball because if it wasn't then, it
wouldn't have been the most popular sport in the world. Soccer is played in many countries than basketball. Soccer is also called the people sport
because, you guessed it because it's the people

The Great Game Of Football
The Great Game of Football Football is the most popular sport in the world, but it is not the same kind of football that Americans usually think of.
Football and American football are two completely different sports, yet they share the same name. American football is only played in the United
States and is a bone breaking, helmet clashing, all around rough sport. Thousands of fans come out and watch young men beat each other up. While
football, otherwise known as soccer, is popular all over the world. Soccer is a fast pace, players sucking air, always running type of sport where
there may only be few goals a game. Both sports are very intriguing to watch and extremely fun to play, yet are very different. It is ironic that the
United States of America calls American football, "Football" because actually touching the ball with one's foot is a very small part of the game
while touching the ball with one's foot is a huge part of soccer. Why is it that soccer is more popular all over the world than American football? First
of all, when a person leaves the United States and goes to a third world country such as Honduras, or Haiti, what sport would that person find? More
often than not they will find an assortment of young, hungry, and dirty children playing soccer. Kids in these countries are playing soccer because all
they need to play the game is a ball, and an empty field. Cathell explains that "Sports engage people, foster teamwork, release endorphins and teach

Playing Soccer Persuasive Speech
Did you know that soccer is the most popular sport in the world? From playing soccer allows you to make more friends in school, it stops stress, and
you can play soccer in your own backyard. These are the exciting things about soccer. Come along with me and I will show you why all kids should
play soccer. One reason all kids should play soccer is that you can make more friends and great memories. For example, l was on the same soccer
team as this kid named, Carmine, because we were on the same team we are now friends. These are just great things that soccer can do for you. I
remember when l when l scored a goal playing against my cousin Michael. l scored a goal in a one versus one games in their basement and that made
me and my cousin kinder to each other. Additionally, when you score you make more friends. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, l did well. Playing soccer made me forget about the test and I got a 90. In addition, soccer relaxes you if your parents yell at you. When
feel sad, you can think about winning in soccer and it will make you happy.
The third reason all kids should play soccer is that you can play soccer anywhere. Before i brought Carmine and Jesse to iplay america, we had a little
soccer game in my backyard. For instance, you could play soccer in you house all you need is a ball and a friend. In addition you can make your own
soccer field in your backyard. For example we play soccer in my play room. This show how great soccer is and why all kids should play soccer.
Some bad information, I am surprised at is that 10 kids think not all kids should play soccer and only 6 kids in my class think all kids should play
soccer. l think that all kids should play soccer. This shows why all kids should play soccer. All kids should play soccer because you can make new
friends and memorise, you can play anywhere, and soccer is not stressful. Now get out there and play some

Process Essay: My First Learning How To Play Soccer
Many youngsters want to know how to play Soccer when they start out young. Parents give their children the opportunities to try different things to
see what they take a shine to when they are young. Many children, especially in soccer mad countries will want to learn how to play soccer more and

Soccer : The Positive Influence Of Soccer As A Teacher
When I was an elementary school student, around 11 or 12, I once went out on the school field to play soccer with my friends, leaving my math
academy's homework behind. Soon, my mom found out and when I came back, she yelled at me, "Go back to your room and stop spending your
time on soccer! It is not helpful or useful in your life!" Thinking about how soccer has affected me and given me positive changes, I can
confidently say back to my mom, "Soccer is useful and it is my best friend." And this is why: Soccer is a teacher. And it is a really good teacher. It
teaches you countless life lessons that even school or internet can't teach. It teaches you how to set goals and as well as those steps to achieve that
goal. It also gives you a strong, healthy self–discipline and most importantly, it helps you how to cooperate and win as a team. Soccer helps you deal
with stress. Opinions regarding how people deal and relieve their stress may vary; however, there are no other better ways than just simply playing
soccer. Whether it is watching or playing soccer, it will just help you relieve your stress. According to healthyliving.azcentral.com, a site that provides
useful information regarding people's health, explains that soccer stimulates your body's production of neurotransmitters or brain chemicals a.k.a
endorphins that eventually relieve around 75% of your stress. Once you put on your soccer cleats and step on the fresh grass with the soccer ball next

Functionalism In Soccer
Just about in any situation you can watch a group of people and notice how they function together to help to maintain the equilibrium of society. I
didn't believe that it was possible to look at literally any social situation big or small and see different parts of the social group working together
for the greater good of society. After watching my step daughter's soccer game, I can now see how we all have different roles to help keep the
society stable. With the help of the ideas from functionalists like Robert Merton, Talcott Parson, and Emile Durkheim I can now observe and
describe how functionalism works even in a soccer game. Parson uses the voluntarist action scheme to show how everyone are connected with
goals and motivations, even by just looking at the individual. I can see this while watching the soccer game. The players themselves have
motivations and goals. Their motivations to play soccer might be different but for this moment their goal is the same, to play a game of soccer.
From Parson's ideas, I can see that there are certain things needed to obtain the goal. They will need money for uniforms, a way to get to get the
game, and they will need a field to play on. I can see that the players are all conforming to different norms. The team is wearing matching uniforms at
the game, warming up before the game, and to listen to the coach. At the game players and coaches sat together while the parents sat in a different
area. I might not be able to physical see any

Compare And Contrast Soccer Vs Football
Soccer vs Football
Following the 1994 World Cup, which was held in the United States, America's interest in soccer grew immensely. The popularity of soccer has been
has also been fueled by the growing immigrant population from Central and South America and the success of Major League Soccer. That continued
interest has drawn heated comparisons between soccer and American football, the most popular sport in the United States. However, in comparing
athleticism, pace of play, and viewership, soccer is clearly the superior sport.
Although both soccer and football require athleticism, there is a distinct difference in the kind involved in each. Football involves brutal force and
violent contact whereas soccer is based in fluid motion and avoidance of contact. This has lead soccer to become the fastest growing American youth
sport as parents are feeling less safe enrolling their children in contact sports like football because of the high risk of serious injuries like concussions
(Lavigne). Football players ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In comparing 2012 viewership for soccer's Champions League Final and the NFL Super Bowl, America's biggest sporting event was for the first time
outclassed by 300 million people worldwide watching soccer to 111.3 million Americans nationally watching football (Joyce). This is not even
considering the viewership of the European Cup, the World Cup, and the Olympics (of which American football is not included). There is simply no
contest; soccer is a world sport, its leagues are followed internationally by the majority of the world's population. Football, while controlling the largest
share of the U.S.'s sport market, is limited to the United States. Furthermore, soccer is rising in popularity in the U.S., in part because of the growing
population influx from Central and South America who are avid soccer

Soccer Player Wages Too Much Or Too Little?
Soccer has been around for many years and it has drastically changed because people are doing it now for the money instead of playing for the
sport, which is how it used to be back in the day. People who think that soccer players are underpaid are wrong because they can make up to
$400,000 a week. Some soccer players even get more than that. Also, some soccer players make millions of dollars a year. Even if they don't play
some games, some soccer players still get paid. When players miss more than three games because of injuries or other reasons, some clubs still pay
them even though they are not playing. Soccer players are being paid excessive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, people get paid on the position they play on their team. Also, it matters if they are a player that is needed or that is not even gonna be played
or have playing time so they will just be on the team only when the coach calls them in when they really need them. Soccer may be a popular sport in
many parts of the world but in the United States, it is one of the less popular sports. The people of the United States watch it less often than other sports
like football, baseball, basketball, and more. There is still tax and other fines the soccer players have to pay. That means the salaries are affected by
this because they won't be making the same amount of money as they are supposed to be making. Also when they are new to the game of soccer they
get paid less in the United States but in the European or Spanish leagues they get paid a lot because the European and Spanish leagues is a tougher
league so then that means when they got scouted that means they are really good or the clubs that bought them in the European and Spanish leagues

Soccer: The Worlds Game
Soccer (Football) is the most popular and fastest growing sport in the world. Over 240 million people play it regularly around the world. However,
most people only get to view one side of soccer in their lifetime. They never get a glimpse of it in any other setting. For many people soccer is a
very competitive organized sport. For others it is an everyday, fun activity. In some countries, soccer is their life, while in others it is just a sport.
For those of you that don't know, soccer is a sport where the objective is to score goals by kicking a ball into the other teams goal. It is a mix of
offense and defense, with very fast paced action. You are allowed to use any body part except your hands and elbows. Soccers first appearance traces
back to 3000 years ago in ancient China. But, the first modern version of soccer originates from VictorianEngland. Since then, soccer has spread
around the world to the point where almost every country plays some form of it. I am going to address how it is different around the world and the
reasons for this. The first country I am going to talk about is the U.S. In the U.S. soccer is not a very big deal. It is a historically small sport
here.We are too busy scoring touchdowns and making homeruns to have time for Soccer. There are many reasons for why soccer is not very big. For
one, there are many, many other distractions. Whereas in some countries, soccer is all they have. No other sports, activities, or hobbies. As Robert

Soccer : The Effect Of Concussions In Soccer
The whistle blows. An injured soccer player is lying on the field holding her head. Whispers of the word "concussion" fill the stands, and finally
when the young girl stands, the crowd claps as she walks off the field, knowing she will be out for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, this scenario
happens all too often on a soccer field. Soccer is a fairly aggressive sport that has been the cause to many concussions over the years. Even though
some people think that wearing headgear will help prevent concussions during a soccer game, soccer players should not have to wear headgear since
there is no proof that it prevents concussions because players need to follow player protocol, heading the ball does not cause concussions, and soccer
is known to be a physical sport. People often argue that concussions in soccer are caused by heading the ball. For example, concussion headbands were
made for players to wear during soccer games to help protect them from getting concussions (Clarey). One cannot deny that concussion headbands
may help reduce the impact from the ball (Clarey). According to Soccer Headgear: Does It Do Any Good? by Jere Longman, "Headgear could
reduce impact forces by 10 to 30 percent" (Longman). Supposedly, players will wear concussion headgear to help reduce concussions. The
headgear will help reduce some of the force from the ball when the player's head makes contact with the ball (Longman). Not only will wearing
headgear during the game help prevent concussions, but also the age at which kids can head the ball with help prevent them too. A new rule
states soccer players 10 and under cannot head the ball in games or practice. Based on new rules from the U.S. Soccer and the American Youth
Soccer Organization, "Children 10 years or under will no longer be allowed to head the ball in practice or games, while players ages 11 to 13 will only
be allowed to do it during practice and not games" (Storrs). Having young players start heading the ball later in life will ensure that they are learning
how to head the ball correctly and accurately. Heading the ball at a young age will put the young players at a higher risk to get a concussion because
they most likely are doing it wrong. However, wearing

Soccer Community Description Of Soccer Essay
UCF Soccer Community Description
Soccer consists of many important text and lexis, the first being the rulebook for soccer. It consists of how to play soccer, what you can and cannot
do during a game, and the setup for the team: 11 players on the field, 2 teams, 3–4 referees, and as many backup players on the bench. The importance
of this text is how the lexis is incorporated into literacy. The goal of the rulebook is to guide a newplayer on how to play the game, but most
importantly it will build how they interpret the game and how those interpretation of the rules spread into their life. Players learn how to be more
perceptive of what is happening around them and this helps to stimulate their brains. But how do players perceive what going on on the field? They
read a playbook. Playbooks contain names and descriptions of many common and intricate soccer plays. This may consist of: bicycle kicks– a player
throwing both feet in the air as a ball is approaching on the fly, while moving the legs with a pedaling motion to kick the ball in the opposite direction
to which the player is facing, with the player usually ending up sprawled on the ground, chip– kicking the ball right over the goalies head, or volley–
strike or kick (the ball) before it touches the ground. These types of plays help players connect their minds with the ball, building their knowledge and
eventually, literacy. The last important text is motivating speeches. These are so important because they help

These include better coordination, increase in concentration, and more self–discipline. Because of all the complex movements that take place in soccer
such as dribbling, turning, and passing, coordination is important to be a better player. Kicking a ball or receiving a pass helps improve one's
hand–eye coordination, making their skills even better on the field. Along with coordination comes concentration. A soccer player need to be focused
on the game and what they are doing so they can improve the outcome of the game. Practicing this skill in a game can translate to everyday life.
Likewise, soccer can also increase one's self–discipline. If one does not train themselves to work or try harder, they can never get better. Having the
ability of self–control can help in many life situations, not just a sport like soccer. Other benefits also include reduced anxiety and an increase in
self–confidence or self–esteem. Soccer and other types of exercise can help take one's mind off of things or reduce stress and anxiety in most people.
This can also result in raising their self–confidence and make them feel better about themselves. Soccer also teaches one to think better on their feet.

For one, other sports that are supposedly American made are not. Therefore, Simpson says that it's, "[a] lame excuse because other than basketball, the

rugby were cheated on because the USA "created" baseball and football. Baseball is technically cricket but with different rules and equipment;
football is rugby but with breaks whenever the ball is dropped, instead of continuous play. Soccer is a low scoring game because of the action that

How I Play Soccer Research Paper
I started playing soccer when I was eight years old. I was first introduced to soccer at a YMCA day camp and fell in love with it instantly. This
camp played soccer a bit differently they had all the same rules and regulations, but played it on black top. I immediately wanted to dive into the
sport and learn everything I could about it. I was taught soccer by being shown how to do it at a league called NASA (National American Soccer
Association). Here I was taught all the parts that make up soccer and how to use the right techniques to make mold me into how I play today.
Soccer is a game with many key components inside it. The most commonly known rule is you can not touch the ball with your hands except if you
are the goalie, which is the player who tries to block the goals from going into your teams goal. There are other components such as dribbling,
passing, and shooting all this comes down to knowing how to kick the ball. Since only one player can use their hands that means the remaining ten
teammates can only use their feet, head, and chest to move the ball. I am going to be focusing on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I still want to use the inside of my foot, but more towards the top slightly. This allows me to get under the ball more which is exactly what you
want when chipping the soccer ball. The purpose of chipping is to get the ball up in the air. I often used this to score in games as well as many
other fellow soccer people use it as a technique for scoring too. When kicking the ball for a chip I use a swiping motion so that I can get underneath
the ball and pop the ball up to get a good chip. When I am underneath the soccer ball I am also tilting my foot at the same time to help with getting
the ball up. Combining all these steps sounds really easy talking about it, but it took me a while to it get down correctly. Anything is doable as long as

Why Is Soccer So Popular
Around the world, soccer is the most beloved sport ever. Many diverse peoples love this sport and truly enjoy watching it, but some people wonder
how it got so popular. Well, soccer is favored by so many due to its unique complexity, high physicality, and soccer community. First, soccer has a
unique complexity that combines elements from all kinds of sports. Like football and baseball, soccer has a high player count with eleven players on
each team in addition to all of the substitutes. Also, soccer is a very dynamic game. It is composed of two forty–five minute halves with no timeouts
and almost no stops. This long time period causes a lot more action to happen to be enjoyed by the fans; where in baseball and softball, the games
may even last longer, but less action occurs in that span of time. Soccer also heavily relies on team unity and teamwork. Because of the amount of
players and how big the field is, players need to depend on one another to get their job done, and they all have to think for themselves in every single
play and make their own decisions, unlike in football where players are given a set play. Soccer contains all different types of sport elements that truly
make it a unique sport to watch and play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the long halves, the players are alternating constantly between jogging, running, and sprinting with very few breaks. Equally important,
the players need good skills and reflexes to perform well. Both of these attributes of soccer lead to it being a very healthy sport to play casually or
competitively. Even if one is not playing, a lot of physicality occurs between players which makes the game even more interesting to watch. Because of
the physicality between teams and in players, soccer becomes a magnificent sport to watch and also

Soccer uses two 45 minute halves for one game, and 15 minutes break. The football clock counts down, stopping for certain events, and
commercials such as incomplete passes. The soccer clock counts upward, and does not stop. However soccer has wasting time after the first 45
minutes and the second halves 45 minutes which is if anyone is got injury. American football teams consistently substitute players in and out. Most
players play either offense or defense. In soccer, teams are only allowed to substitute three players per game, meaning eight of the eleven must play
the whole game. In soccer, the game flows continuously without stopping after each play or when the other team gains possession of the ball. In
American football, the players reset after each play, known as a "down." Each team has four downs to gain ten yards, known as a first down, or the
other team gets the ball. If the team had not gotten the first down after three plays, they may choose to punt, or kick, the ball to the other team. Even
American football when they play they can ask

Personal Essay: How Soccer Changed My Life
The object that I chose means a lot to me is a round object. It traditionally has black and white octagons on it. The colors and patterns on it have

life, soccer is a way for me to be free, and for me to stay in good shape. Without a soccer ball, none of this would be possible. The soccer ball has been
a part of my life since I was a little kid. My dad put a soccer ball at my feet at the age of 2. I first started playing when I was 4 for the Sharks on Fort
Benning. Years later I moved to Columbus toplay recreational soccer for the Columbus Youth Soccer Club. Playing with a soccer ball was my
childhood. I've been playing with a soccer ball for 14 years now. I like to think I am quite good at soccer. I mean I've never been on a soccer team and
not started. I started for my middle school soccer team 6th to 8th grade, I started some games at Hardaway my freshman year, I've always started for

However, the highest level leagues are in Spain, England, and Italy. Although all those countries seem far away it isn't as hard as it seems to make
it to a team from one of those countries. The teams from the major soccer leagues send scouts all over the world to give children an opportunity to
play for them, no matter where they play. If the scouts feel someone is good enough, they will call and put in a good word for a player and more
scouts will go watch until they decide whether or not to give the player a chance. The fact that it doesn't matter if they're playing on the street or if
they're playing organized soccer makes the game more accessible.
By being so accessible to the people soccer becomes a cheap sport. Club teams, which give a good opportunity to get scouted, don't cost too much
money. Some of the best club teams will cost one thousand dollars total, with trips to tournaments included. However, those clubs aren't the only
ones a player can choose. There are many leagues that will only cost someone seventy to eighty dollars to play per season. Although what really
makes soccer one of the cheapest sports is the lack of equipment needed to play. All that is needed to play is a field, cleats, a jersey and shin guards.

Soccer was first officially played here in the United States in 1862 but records show that the history of soccer traces back more than 2,000 years ago
to ancient China, Greece, Rome, and parts of Central America also claim to have started the sport; but it was England that transitioned soccer, or what
the British and many other people around the world call "fubol," into the game we know today. As civilians from England and London and Britain

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world by far. It beats out Cricket, which is the second most popular sport, by one billion viewers. Soccer is
even considered a religion or art in other countries, but in America soccer isn't as popular as it is in other parts of the world. The biggest hindrance to
soccer's popularity in America was that it became viewed as un–American. Soccer became the most popular sport worldwide, because of how little you
need to play the sport. The only thing that you need is the ball, not even another person is required to practice the sport. Since soccer requires so little,
merchants and missionaries would take soccer with them when they travelled. When British merchants would go to other countries they would take

The place that really transitioned football the game that we now know as soccer is England. In October 1863 is the year that the game of soccer was
actually established, eleven representatives from London clubs and schools met at the Freemason's Tavern to set up common fundamental rules to
control the matches amongst themselves. It is said that the English also recorded the first uniform rules of the game, they forbid tripping opponents

Then I found out that the leading exporter for soccer players in the world is actually Brazil even though Europe is the core economic of soccer. It is said
this is because of the Brazilian players predominantly fluid and imaginative style of playing the game of soccer. This is crazy to me but about 5000
Brazilians play professional soccer outside of Brazil, which is a very outrageous number of soccer players that are playing professional soccer all
around the world. One of the reason that Brazil has so many soccer players is because they are inspired by the success of Pele and Ronaldo. In Brazil
there are 500 professional clubs and those clubs employ about 23,000 players. Since there is so many teams the individual markets are small and
the pay is low for all the teams except for the top ones. It is stated that, "90 percent of Brazilian players earn less than 100 euros per month" (Bellos).
Brazil exports so many players to the world because of the poor clubs which means poor pay so the players would rather go somewhere else where

How To Play Soccer Process Essay
Are you ready to join billions of players worldwide by taking part in the world's most popular sport?
Learning how to play soccer makes you a member of the globe's biggest community – and the best part is, it's easy to do.
Playing soccer as a beginner can seem daunting, but in fact it is simple to pick up. The game is played by eleven players on each team on a field that,
while varying in size, is generally around 115 yards by 75 yards. The object is to propel the soccer ball across the opposition's goal–line into the back
of the net.
All you need to play is a marked field, two teams, a soccer ball, and an idea of the laws of the game. Thankfully these are also very elementary for the
beginner, at least in their basic form.
There are some complex rules that only enthusiasts and experienced players fully understand, but the beauty of football is in its simplicity. With this in
mind, remember a few core rules: only goalkeepers can touch the ball with their hands; when tackling for the ball, if you miss and hit the player, it's
a foul; a foul in the defender's goal area results in a penalty kick; and there are corner kicks, goal kicks, and throw–ins, depending on how and where
the ball goes out of play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Step 1.
The first is to learn soccer's rules: read the Laws of the Game, or at least glance through them. At just 50 large–type pages, this isn't a huge task, and
you'll be surprised at some of the soccer laws in there.
Step 2.
The second step is much more enjoyable: sit back, relax, and watch a game! Whether it's online, on TV, or– the best option – in the flesh, there's
nothing like getting into the thick of things by watching soccer being played. It doesn't matter what level you watch from high school through to the
World Cup as long as it's played on a regulation field by eleven players a team with a referee: the basics are the same all throughout the

Contrast between Sports Has it ever came to your mind that Soccer and Football seem like the same thing? They're both outside sports. Their fields
have the same layout and they have the same goal throughout the game; to score on the opposing team. This has flown through of my mind over a
thousand times. But although Soccer and Football are set up the same way doesn't mean that they are the same. Soccer and Football are different in
three ways.
The first way Soccer and Football differ is by who can play each sport. In soccer, both girls and boys can play the game from ages four, all the way to

Soccer is more of an ongoing game when compared to football. In order the start the game there needs to be a total of twenty–two players. Eleven
players on each team with one of their players being the goalie. The objective of the game is to kick the soccer ball as many times as you can in
the opposing teams goal, but at the same time you have to keep the ball away from the other team. During the game, you want to avoid touching
the ball with your hands, which is unless you are the goalie or throwing the ball in the game from the out of bounce area. All different Soccer
games have different time lengths depending on the age level. In Soccer game is played with two half's, each half is forty five minutes long with
a half time of fifteen minutes in between. As for Football the game is played completely different. The only thing that is similar is the amount of
people on the field and on each team. The objective of football is to score as many touchdowns on the opposing team's side without the other team
interfering you tackles. Unlike Soccer, Football isn't ongoing; it stops when each play stops. Plays usually stops when someone on the other team
tackles whoever has the ball on your team. Another way to score can be made by a field goal (this usually happens after making a touchdown or
when someone is too far to make a touchdown). When your team has the ball, they are given four chance to score (also known as downs, ex: "1st
down"). Although, the sport is called "Football," players don't use their feet as much, only when kicking the ball to start the game or to make a field
goal. A casual Football game has four quarter with a half in between the first

Soccer Is The Greatest Sport Essay
There are many sports in the world today, and each involves different skills in order to play. This brings a controversial question then: which sport is
the greatest? Soccer is the greatest sport due to the fact that soccer is also an easy sport to learn. Almost every child played soccer when they were
little. There are no true height requirements in order to play soccer. You do not have to be the tallestplayer out there to be the best. One of the most
rewarding things about soccer is that it is a team sport, which requires players to work together. One of the main concerns for parents when their
kids play a sport is how much will the sport cost? Soccer is one of the cheapest sports. Unlike many other sports, soccer is one of the only sports
where the clock doesn't stop. Therefore, soccer is the greatest sport. One of the interviewees, Garrett (age 20), said, "I do not think that soccer is the
greatest sport. It gets overshadowed by other sports, for example, baseball and football." In this paper, I will explain why soccer is the greatest sport.
First of all, soccer is the greatest sport because it is a very easy sport to learn. If children are taught the rules at a young age, then anyone can
understand them. In my personal experience, the rules for soccer were easy to learn because there were not too many to learn. I had to work very

Descriptive Essay About Soccer City

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About Soccer City Hidden deep in the streets of Sunny Ridge, a neighborhood, lies a whole new soccer world open to everyone. Soccer City brings an exhalating sports atmosphere that anyone that is willing to learn to play soccer can excel. As guests walk in through the doors of the entrance at soccer city all they hear are the thunderous roars of a soccer ball being kicked against the walls. The trainlike whistles of the referees stopping the ball for a foul, all while trying to calm the opposing teams from getting into an argument. The smell of hard work, but mostly sweat of the players trying to score for their teams. These are just a few of the components that makes soccer city such a wonderful place unlike any other. Soccer City, with all of its components, really outlines the true identity of soccer and how everyone of all ages can come together to play a game and work towards a common goal; to score goals. When walking through the entrance at soccer city the complete floorplan of the whole indoor complex can be seen below. In the center of the complex, there are benches to rest on, and a concession stand facing right in that direction. This encourages players to sit down and take a bite as they anxiously wait for their game or just for visitors grab a snack and watch soccer. Since the benches and the concession area is centered in the middle of the complex on both sides there is a soccer field that allows for the accommodation of eating while watching these warlike games going on as players seem to fight each other vigorously chasing down a ball that keeps on rolling. This effect of having the concession stand allows the aroma of food to be around in the air and it makes the customers that come to ply soccer also eat at soccer city and not elsewhere which further increases sales at soccer city by people buying food there between games and not eating at any other restaurants Upon walking through the doors, the loud chatter of people urgently calling for teammates to get the ball, or the thunderous sounds the ball makes when it hits against the field walls soon fills ears and connects people instantly with the live atmosphere. This noisy atmosphere isn't for everyone but for those rowdy soccer players this is paradise. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Why Is Soccer Better Than Basketball ou can agree with me that soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Basket in the other hand is one of the popular sport in the world, but not the most popular sport. Many people might agree with me that soccer is the best, and it's better than basketball, that's why it's called the people sport. Soccer is my favorite sport, and I think it's better than basketball because, a soccer game does not take longer compare to a basketball game. I also think soccer is the best because, it has other spots in it that you may not know. Like for example, just like in the basketball you can touch a soccer ball with your hand, only goalkeeper, player can touch it if they are about to throw in. If you play soccer you will see your dream, like Cristiano ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First I will show you what they have in common. Soccer and Basketball are both sports, we know that, but did you know they are very similar sport except for the part one doesn't end in a ball(soccer). Anyway, Soccer and basket are similar for example, both sport have rules, they both have more than 3 players, both sport have two teams, and the team has a captain and in a likely manner both team players earn good money. Those two sports are great sport, but there has to be one that is better than the other. I know what it is, it's soccer because soccer is the most popular sport in the world, and basketball fall in top 10 most popular sport, but it's at 9th place. I also say soccer is better than basketball because if it wasn't then, it wouldn't have been the most popular sport in the world. Soccer is played in many countries than basketball. Soccer is also called the people sport because, you guessed it because it's the people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Great Game Of Football The Great Game of Football Football is the most popular sport in the world, but it is not the same kind of football that Americans usually think of. Football and American football are two completely different sports, yet they share the same name. American football is only played in the United States and is a bone breaking, helmet clashing, all around rough sport. Thousands of fans come out and watch young men beat each other up. While football, otherwise known as soccer, is popular all over the world. Soccer is a fast pace, players sucking air, always running type of sport where there may only be few goals a game. Both sports are very intriguing to watch and extremely fun to play, yet are very different. It is ironic that the United States of America calls American football, "Football" because actually touching the ball with one's foot is a very small part of the game while touching the ball with one's foot is a huge part of soccer. Why is it that soccer is more popular all over the world than American football? First of all, when a person leaves the United States and goes to a third world country such as Honduras, or Haiti, what sport would that person find? More often than not they will find an assortment of young, hungry, and dirty children playing soccer. Kids in these countries are playing soccer because all they need to play the game is a ball, and an empty field. Cathell explains that "Sports engage people, foster teamwork, release endorphins and teach young people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Playing Soccer Persuasive Speech Did you know that soccer is the most popular sport in the world? From playing soccer allows you to make more friends in school, it stops stress, and you can play soccer in your own backyard. These are the exciting things about soccer. Come along with me and I will show you why all kids should play soccer. One reason all kids should play soccer is that you can make more friends and great memories. For example, l was on the same soccer team as this kid named, Carmine, because we were on the same team we are now friends. These are just great things that soccer can do for you. I remember when l when l scored a goal playing against my cousin Michael. l scored a goal in a one versus one games in their basement and that made me and my cousin kinder to each other. Additionally, when you score you make more friends. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, l did well. Playing soccer made me forget about the test and I got a 90. In addition, soccer relaxes you if your parents yell at you. When feel sad, you can think about winning in soccer and it will make you happy. The third reason all kids should play soccer is that you can play soccer anywhere. Before i brought Carmine and Jesse to iplay america, we had a little soccer game in my backyard. For instance, you could play soccer in you house all you need is a ball and a friend. In addition you can make your own soccer field in your backyard. For example we play soccer in my play room. This show how great soccer is and why all kids should play soccer. Some bad information, I am surprised at is that 10 kids think not all kids should play soccer and only 6 kids in my class think all kids should play soccer. l think that all kids should play soccer. This shows why all kids should play soccer. All kids should play soccer because you can make new friends and memorise, you can play anywhere, and soccer is not stressful. Now get out there and play some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Parents give their children the opportunities to try different things to see what they take a shine to when they are young. Many children, especially in soccer mad countries will want to learn how to play soccer more and more as they get older. Soccer should be demonstrated and taught at a very basic and easy to understand level when first learning how to play Soccer. • 6. Soccer : The Positive Influence Of Soccer As A Teacher When I was an elementary school student, around 11 or 12, I once went out on the school field to play soccer with my friends, leaving my math academy's homework behind. Soon, my mom found out and when I came back, she yelled at me, "Go back to your room and stop spending your time on soccer! It is not helpful or useful in your life!" Thinking about how soccer has affected me and given me positive changes, I can confidently say back to my mom, "Soccer is useful and it is my best friend." And this is why: Soccer is a teacher. And it is a really good teacher. It teaches you countless life lessons that even school or internet can't teach. It teaches you how to set goals and as well as those steps to achieve that goal. It also gives you a strong, healthy self–discipline and most importantly, it helps you how to cooperate and win as a team. Soccer helps you deal with stress. Opinions regarding how people deal and relieve their stress may vary; however, there are no other better ways than just simply playing soccer. Whether it is watching or playing soccer, it will just help you relieve your stress. According to healthyliving.azcentral.com, a site that provides useful information regarding people's health, explains that soccer stimulates your body's production of neurotransmitters or brain chemicals a.k.a endorphins that eventually relieve around 75% of your stress. • 7. Functionalism In Soccer Just about in any situation you can watch a group of people and notice how they function together to help to maintain the equilibrium of society. I didn't believe that it was possible to look at literally any social situation big or small and see different parts of the social group working together for the greater good of society. After watching my step daughter's soccer game, I can now see how we all have different roles to help keep the society stable. With the help of the ideas from functionalists like Robert Merton, Talcott Parson, and Emile Durkheim I can now observe and describe how functionalism works even in a soccer game. Parson uses the voluntarist action scheme to show how everyone are connected with goals and motivations, even by just looking at the individual. I can see this while watching the soccer game. The players themselves have motivations and goals. Their motivations to play soccer might be different but for this moment their goal is the same, to play a game of soccer. From Parson's ideas, I can see that there are certain things needed to obtain the goal. They will need money for uniforms, a way to get to get the game, and they will need a field to play on. I can see that the players are all conforming to different norms. The team is wearing matching uniforms at the game, warming up before the game, and to listen to the coach. At the game players and coaches sat together while the parents sat in a different area. I might not be able to physical see any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Compare And Contrast Soccer Vs Football Soccer vs Football Following the 1994 World Cup, which was held in the United States, America's interest in soccer grew immensely. The popularity of soccer has been has also been fueled by the growing immigrant population from Central and South America and the success of Major League Soccer. That continued interest has drawn heated comparisons between soccer and American football, the most popular sport in the United States. However, in comparing athleticism, pace of play, and viewership, soccer is clearly the superior sport. Although both soccer and football require athleticism, there is a distinct difference in the kind involved in each. Football involves brutal force and violent contact whereas soccer is based in fluid motion and avoidance of contact. This has lead soccer to become the fastest growing American youth sport as parents are feeling less safe enrolling their children in contact sports like football because of the high risk of serious injuries like concussions (Lavigne). Football players ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In comparing 2012 viewership for soccer's Champions League Final and the NFL Super Bowl, America's biggest sporting event was for the first time outclassed by 300 million people worldwide watching soccer to 111.3 million Americans nationally watching football (Joyce). This is not even considering the viewership of the European Cup, the World Cup, and the Olympics (of which American football is not included). There is simply no contest; soccer is a world sport, its leagues are followed internationally by the majority of the world's population. Football, while controlling the largest share of the U.S.'s sport market, is limited to the United States. Furthermore, soccer is rising in popularity in the U.S., in part because of the growing population influx from Central and South America who are avid soccer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Why Do Soccer Players Pay Too Much Brandon Santiago 5/10/17 English Research Paper Soccer Player Wages Too Much Or Too Little? Soccer has been around for many years and it has drastically changed because people are doing it now for the money instead of playing for the sport, which is how it used to be back in the day. People who think that soccer players are underpaid are wrong because they can make up to $400,000 a week. Some soccer players even get more than that. Also, some soccer players make millions of dollars a year. Even if they don't play some games, some soccer players still get paid. When players miss more than three games because of injuries or other reasons, some clubs still pay them even though they are not playing. Soccer players are being paid excessive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, people get paid on the position they play on their team. Also, it matters if they are a player that is needed or that is not even gonna be played or have playing time so they will just be on the team only when the coach calls them in when they really need them. Soccer may be a popular sport in many parts of the world but in the United States, it is one of the less popular sports. The people of the United States watch it less often than other sports like football, baseball, basketball, and more. There is still tax and other fines the soccer players have to pay. That means the salaries are affected by this because they won't be making the same amount of money as they are supposed to be making. Also when they are new to the game of soccer they get paid less in the United States but in the European or Spanish leagues they get paid a lot because the European and Spanish leagues is a tougher league so then that means when they got scouted that means they are really good or the clubs that bought them in the European and Spanish leagues think that they have ... • 11. Soccer: The Worlds Game Soccer (Football) is the most popular and fastest growing sport in the world. Over 240 million people play it regularly around the world. However, most people only get to view one side of soccer in their lifetime. They never get a glimpse of it in any other setting. For many people soccer is a very competitive organized sport. For others it is an everyday, fun activity. In some countries, soccer is their life, while in others it is just a sport. For those of you that don't know, soccer is a sport where the objective is to score goals by kicking a ball into the other teams goal. It is a mix of offense and defense, with very fast paced action. You are allowed to use any body part except your hands and elbows. Soccers first appearance traces back to 3000 years ago in ancient China. But, the first modern version of soccer originates from VictorianEngland. Since then, soccer has spread around the world to the point where almost every country plays some form of it. I am going to address how it is different around the world and the reasons for this. The first country I am going to talk about is the U.S. In the U.S. soccer is not a very big deal. It is a historically small sport here.We are too busy scoring touchdowns and making homeruns to have time for Soccer. There are many reasons for why soccer is not very big. For one, there are many, many other distractions. Whereas in some countries, soccer is all they have. No other sports, activities, or hobbies. As Robert Beall, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Soccer : The Effect Of Concussions In Soccer The whistle blows. An injured soccer player is lying on the field holding her head. Whispers of the word "concussion" fill the stands, and finally when the young girl stands, the crowd claps as she walks off the field, knowing she will be out for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, this scenario happens all too often on a soccer field. Soccer is a fairly aggressive sport that has been the cause to many concussions over the years. Even though some people think that wearing headgear will help prevent concussions during a soccer game, soccer players should not have to wear headgear since there is no proof that it prevents concussions because players need to follow player protocol, heading the ball does not cause concussions, and soccer is known to be a physical sport. People often argue that concussions in soccer are caused by heading the ball. For example, concussion headbands were made for players to wear during soccer games to help protect them from getting concussions (Clarey). One cannot deny that concussion headbands may help reduce the impact from the ball (Clarey). According to Soccer Headgear: Does It Do Any Good? by Jere Longman, "Headgear could reduce impact forces by 10 to 30 percent" (Longman). Supposedly, players will wear concussion headgear to help reduce concussions. The headgear will help reduce some of the force from the ball when the player's head makes contact with the ball (Longman). Not only will wearing headgear during the game help prevent concussions, but also the age at which kids can head the ball with help prevent them too. A new rule states soccer players 10 and under cannot head the ball in games or practice. Based on new rules from the U.S. Soccer and the American Youth Soccer Organization, "Children 10 years or under will no longer be allowed to head the ball in practice or games, while players ages 11 to 13 will only be allowed to do it during practice and not games" (Storrs). Having young players start heading the ball later in life will ensure that they are learning how to head the ball correctly and accurately.
