2. Purpose
• The purpose of this data overview is to determine the extent to which
Norcross High School is meeting/exceeding standards set by the Gwinnett
County School District as well as by the state of Georgia.
• In order to determine where NHS falls in relevance to other schools in the
district, state, and nationally, student assessment data has been gathered.
• Student demographic data has also been provided in order to present a
well-rounded critique of the academic goals and achievements of this
diverse, Title-1 school

• Located in Norcross, GA, serving 3800+ Students
• Part of the Gwinnett County Public School System
• Principal: William Bishop
• The only high school in the GCPS to have the IB Programme (1999)
• School Colors: blue, silver, and white
• School Mascot: the blue devil (Bishop & Dees, 2014)

15. The Next Step… • In order to become academically competitive with like schools, Norcross High School
must incorporate professional development programs that address the unique needs of
the NHS student body
• Students will be offered after-school remediation, tutoring, and test prep.
• Literacy initiatives have been implemented in all core content areas which will serve to
improve cross-disciplinary skills
