2. Research
 We have learnt that through research, planning and evaluating our opening
sequence you get a better outcome.
 Research; at the start of year 12 we looked at many opening sequences so we
could see what we need to include and th4e standards of them. We looked at iron
sky, monster and natural; born killers. We had to write analysis on each of these.
You can view this at the very bottom of my blog.
 Another part of our research was to look into all genres so we could find a genre we
was keen on to look into more detail. We looked at audio commentaries such as
‘se7en’ and ‘prisoners’. We looked through opening sequences of thriller/action to
get an idea of what they consist of in the first 2 minutes to give us ideas.
 We had to keep in mind all of the rules we leant with Hammond that I have
previously blogged about. When looking at other o0pening sequences we kept the
rules in mind and analyzed match on action and the 180- degree rule throughout.
Without this regular in depth research we would not have such a clear view and idea
o what we are wanting our opening scene to consist of.

3. Planning
 As a pair, planning had to ALWAYS be done together so we could
exchange ideas and co-operate together. We covered locations, actors,
costumes, props etc in these discussions. Luckily, we took Media at GCSE
and worked in a group together at GCSE. This was helpful as we have
had the previous experience of working together and we both have the
advantage of knowing useful information of what to plan/ how to plan
effectively.
 At this point media had all of its equipment back from the year 11’s so
their was more than enough so we knew this wouldn't’t be a issue and we
could get straight to work. The only thing we had to carefully plan was if
we wanted to edit outside of classroom hours as their is A LOT of media
students and not enough macs, therefore we decided that if it was
necessary we would stay after school on either Tuesdays and Thursdays
to edit on the macs as the software is provided and these are the days
during the week we could both do. As we was already prepared for this it
didn't’t come an occurring issue and if it did we had an alternative way to
get everything done according to our plans.
