1. Production Schedule
Week 1
Monday
For the first day of the first week we will set up the typical template for each of the cards. Each
of the cards must have the same template and theme on each of them. This is including the
template for the front and back of each card. The front page will include the method, the
ingredients, an image and the title. The back page will include the picture as the background,
the title and text. Today will also be the day that we source the images from the internet, making
sure that they are appropriate and are the meal that we basing the recipe card on. For example
we couldn’t put a picture of pie and chips on a recipe page for vegetarian pizza.
Tuesday
The second day will be correcting our templates to what we think is best and how they look. By
doing this we will have a clearer understanding of where everything will go and how we want it
to look. We will also separate the cards between us to decide who is doing which recipes; we
have 4 to do each. We will also begin doing the recipe cards but not making them properly.
Wednesday
On the third day we will each begin on our own set of 4 cards that we have. On this day we will
chose the first recipe to put onto the cards and we will start entering the information onto them.
This will include us changing the copy (text) that goes onto each of the cards to fit them in
properly, and making sure that the images fit in the template. We will also add the colours on to
the page and make sure that they match well with the images used- complimenting them. We
will then spend the afternoon of today doing the back page of the recipe card. (begin making 1st
card)
Week 2
Monday
Today will be the start of the second card, placing the text and images in the template. We will
also add the colours of the background and make sure that they compliment the main images.
We will then spend the afternoon finalising the front page and doing the back page of the recipe
cards as-well. (begin making 2nd card)
Tuesday
Today will be the start of the third card, placing the text and images in the template. We will also
add the colours of the background and make sure that they compliment the main images. In the
afternoon of this day, we will do the back page of the recipe cards and also begin work on the
fourth recipe cards front page. (begin making 3rd card)
Wednesday
Today will be the day we finish off the fourth card, placing the text and images in the template.
We will also add the colours of the background and make sure that they compliment the main
images; we will be finishing this page due to the progress made on the Tuesday afternoon. We
will then proceed to start the back page of this card. (4th card)
2. Week 3
Monday
Today will be the day we finish off the back page of recipe card number four. This will take up
the morning and then the afternoon lesson will be there for us to make sure we have done each
card, front and back. If we haven’t, we will make a note of what needs doing –evaluating them,
and plan to do them on the contingency days. (finish all of card 4)
Tuesday
Contingency day.
Today is the day for us to make any changes to the recipe cards, or finish ones off that we
haven’t had time to. This day will allow us to look at the recipe cards and to see if they are
working or not- to see if the look appealing to the target audience and if we need to change the
layout of them. Because we will have all the information, images and colour schemes on the
cards already, this is going to make doing any changes easier. This will also be the time to get
extra feedback from peers and tutors, and then factor this into our final day.
Wednesday
Final day.
On the final day we will gather all 8 of the recipe cards and see if they look like part of a set. We
will apply any finishing touches and make sure that they match our brief. This will also be the
time to make any changes suggested by peers and tutors if we agree with them. We must make
sure that each recipe card has the same look to it, that they all have the same theme and they
are easy to read and understandable. Due to the target audience we have, we must make sure
that there is not to much writing and that the mages are attractive and colours appealing to
them.
