  41. 41. How it Works!§  A primary and standby server are clustered using 3rd party open source software packages. These packages are: –  Pacemaker: Monitors the health of the servers and Asterisk –  Corasync: When the primary fails Corasync starts the applications on the standby server when it is promoted to primary –  DRDB: Application for mirroring of Asterisk configuration files §  The R-Series utility (RCTL) interacts with the cluster management applications on each server Creative Innovation – Customer Satisfaction – Continual Quality Improvement 41
