1. IDEA ONE
My first idea was to produce an advert for a football boot. Previously I’ve attempted to create a
football boot advert, and in doing so I’ve learnt a lot of know exactly what I need to improve on to
create a professional standard and decent quality advert. This already gives me a head start in the
process as I know techniques, camera angles and styles that work well.
This advert would be a short and sharp advert, advertising a new brand of football boots. The advert
will be about 30-40 seconds long, and aimed to be aired upon the sport channels on Sky and on ITV
in-between televised sporting events. Also I want the advert to be put on TV during late summer,
specifically July and August as that’s towards the beginning of the football season, when people will
go out and purchase new football boots. This advert will then obviously look out for new boots and
new adverts. The reason I don’t want it any longer is because I don’t want to bore the audience and
cause them to lose concentration.
The target audience for this advert would be separated into different groups, the geo-demographic
side to the audience would be those who live in rich and big cities such as London, Manchester and
Liverpool, and the demographic would be people in the teens and possibly young adults up to the
age of 30 who would be interested in buying new football boots, keeping up with the ‘Football
Fashion World’. Other areas I want would be renown areas for Football and sport which is primarily
London and up north.
For this advert, all the clothing worn would have to be the same brand as the football boot I’m
advertising, For Example Nike. I would be focusing upon one specific football boot, so all those
featured in the advert will need to wear other boots to the main actor in order to tell the audience
that the boot I’m advertising and better than any other boot out there on the market at the time.
The football used in the advert would also have to be the same brand; I’d also need football goals
too.
I would film this advert in my garden or in the park in my village as it’s easily accessible and free to
use whenever I want and need. I would be trying to produce an advert which is a high tempo,
exciting and eye catching. I will aim to have the filmed and edited within 3 weeks of each other,
getting all the filming done within the first week, giving me time to edit it all and enough time to go
and film again in the last week if I need a little bit more.
2. IDEA TWO
My second idea was to produce an advert for a sporting brand for example Nike, Adidas or Puma.
Much like my previous idea, it’s a sport generated advert as I’m into sport and love the idea of
producing a football or sport based product.
The time length for this advert would be roughly 90seconds to 2 minutes long as I want it to be seen
as more of a short film/promotion. In this time, viewers can enjoy what they are watching as well as
take in formation. The video will consist of pieces of clothing that all belong to one Sport brand such
as Nike, and I will advertise different variations of clothing from golf equipment, to swimwear and
football clothing. My promotional video/advert will have several slots where it’ll be shown on TV,
but it will be uploaded online for online use as its cheaper and more of a campaign/promotion as
appose to an advert.
My target audience will be those who belong in the upper class and middle class of the
psychographic column. This is due to their wealth and ability to purchase expensive sport clothing,
also Nike are a massive business worldwide and have a very high demand for equipment and
clothing, meaning the higher class of the social ladder. Also obviously this will be aimed towards the
sporty population, but also those non sporty ones can also take notice as the sport gear can be worn
for fitness reasons and although you may not be into sport, you can still exercise so the target
audience is much broader than your typical sporting advert for a specific product of a brand.
The clothing and equipment in this advert has to be Nike clothing, this is very important due to the
rivalry with other brands such as Adidas and Puma. Likewise, the specific style of clothing which I’ll
advertise will need to be filmed in the appropriate surroundings and location. I will be advertising
Golf equipment such as Nike golf balls and clubs and these will be filmed at a golf course local to me.
Nike swimwear which I’ll try and get to the beach in the summer weather and make the most of the
weather and surroundings. Nike football equipment where I’ll use my garden or a local park. Nike
sweatbands and body equipment I’ll try and get featured while playing tennis to show off their use
and effectiveness of them. Also going away from the sport idea, I’ll advertise the Nike causal trainers
and clothing by filming in London or a big city with famous features which will then say how big the
brand is and how popular it is.
I want to get the filming done within 2 weeks and then spend a week editing and this will then give
me a week extra to get more footage if needed, and if not then I can improve editing.
