2. Proverbs 23:15 My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart
shall rejoice, even mine. 16 Yea, my reins shall
rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.
Solomon is speaking to a son, and it does gladden
the heart of an earthly daddy when his son is wise

in heart and speaks right things.
We reveal our heart with our words.
It also rejoices the heart of our Father, God, when
His children are wise and speak right things.

3. Luke 6 45 A good man out of the good treasure of
his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an
evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart
bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the
abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Jesus is teaching here and says the same thing:
Our words reveal our heart.
Is thy heart right with God?

4. 17 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in
the fear of the LORD all the day long. 18 For surely
there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be
cut off.
It is foolish to envy sinners; to want

to do what they do.
We who love and respect The Lord have a great
expectation: of Heaven and eternity with God.
They have only hell to look forward to.

5. 19 Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine
heart in the way. 20 Be not among winebibbers;
among riotous eaters of flesh: 21 For the drunkard
and the glutton shall come to poverty: and
drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Wisdom never leads to a life of drunkenness,

or gluttony, or laziness.
Wisdom lead to well-being and abundance.

22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and
despise not thy mother when she is old.
For children to despise their parents when
they get old is not a new thing,
But it is prevalent in our culture.
Children use their parents, but do not want to take
care of them when they get old and helpless.

They don’t want to spend time with them
when they are lonely.
They are too busy with their own lives,
They think.

23 Buy the Truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and
instruction, and understanding.
Truth, Wisdom, Instruction, and Understanding
seem undesirable when one is young, strong,
having fun, and doing well.
But the advise of a loving parent is meant only for
good, and will bless the son or daughter who hears.

9. 24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice:
and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of
him. 25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and
she that bare thee shall rejoice.

True wisdom will produce righteousness.
Sin is foolish and destructive.
Every loving parent wants to see their
children living right and doing well.

10. 10
26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes
observe My Ways. 27 For a whore is a deep ditch;
and a strange woman is a narrow pit. 28 She also
lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the
transgressors among men.
(NIV) 27 for a prostitute is a deep pit and a way-ward
wife is a narrow well. 28 Like a bandit she lies
in wait, and multiplies the unfaithful among men.

11. Fornication and adultery are
equally destructive sins.
They are traps to capture the unwary.
There is no such thing as a “No harm” sin.

But sexual sins are so very harmful.
