The document is a sermon discussing various passages from the Bible about love, service, and diligence. It encourages Christians to love sincerely without hypocrisy, hate evil and cling to good. It emphasizes the importance of being friendly, honoring others, and working hard without laziness in both spiritual and practical matters. Christians are called to enthusiastically serve the Lord with their whole heart.
2. Romans 12 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; Love must be sincere, if we would be useful in the Kingdom of God . Nothing we do is of any value , unless we are motivated by sincere love -- For God and our brothers and sisters .
3. 9b Abhor (hate) that which is evil; cleave (hold) to that which is good. Mindset If we think that evil is kind of cool , we will play with it and become a fool or a tool - of Satan. Are you whole - heartedly living for our Lord? What is your mindset today? Do you passionately hate sin?
4. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; Kindly affectioned is the family kind of love. "to cherish one's kindred" -- Strong's Greek "With brotherly love" We are taught to view the younger women as sisters , the older women as mothers , the younger men as brothers , the older as fathers . We can love with pure hearts , fervently.
5. Proverbs 18 24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. But if we would gain friends, we must be friendly. is essential to maintain friendships. Reach out to that one you see sitting alone. Talk to the boring folks.
6. In honor preferring one another. "There is no limit to what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit."
7. This is part of genuine love -- a willingness to work in the background , helping another to accomplish a goal even though he may receive all the credit . We won't be afraid to
8. 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; There's no place for a Christian to get lazy , especially about the Lord's work . We are to maintain our enthusiasm for service , as well as worship of our Lord. All our work should be done as service to the Lord.
9. Proverbs 12 27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. To kill a deer, but fail to clean it and preserve it is wasteful . To be lazy is to waste opportunity.
10. Proverbs 18 9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. To garden , we have to prepare the soil, fertilize, plant, hoe, and gather. A lazy man will miss that opportunity , because he won't be in the mood at the right time.
11. Proverbs 24 30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; 31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. 32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
12. Proverbs 20 4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. Proverbs 15 19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain. Proverbs 22 13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. He works harder trying to get out of work, than he would to do the work . A lazy man makes it hard on himself .
13. 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord ; Joshua 22 5 But take diligent heed to do the Com-mandment and the Law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all His Ways, and to keep His Commandments, and to cleave unto Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul .
14. Proverbs 13 4 The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat {fully satisfied} . Everybody wants to be happy, to be at peace in our souls, to have friends, to do well. These are the blessings of the Lord. Love, joy, and peace come through fellowship with the Lord in the Holy Spirit. They are produced in us as we diligently live life God's Way.
15. 1 Timothy 4 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading , to exhortation , to doctrine . 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save {deliver, heal, do well} thyself, and them that hear thee. To fervently serve the Lord brings blessing.
16. 12a Rejoicing in hope (to anticipate with pleasure and confidence); When we are expecting God's blessing on our efforts , we can remain enthusiastic . To rejoice means to be and remain cheerful , glad , and well .
17. Let's be always fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. On your job
18. Isaiah 6 8 Also I heard the Voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
