university’s heyday and providing accommodations for
2,000 professors.
It was devoted to Buddhist studies, but it also trained
students in fine arts, medicine, mathematics, politics
astronomy, and the art of war.
Nalanda University attracted pupils and scholars from
Korea, Japan, China, Tibet, Indonesia, Persia and Turkey.
The library of Nalanda, known as Dharma Gunj (Mountain
of Truth) or (Treasury of Truth)
It had a nine-story library where monks meticulously

Impact of COVID-19 on Education
According to UNESCO report approx. 157 crore
students are affected from KG to PG level acrosss the
Glob and when we are discussing about India approx
32 crore students/learners are affected due to the
pandemic situation.
Needless to say, the pandemic has transformed
centuries old Chalk and talk teaching model to one
driven by technology.
The delivery of education is pushing policy makers to
figure out how to drive engagement at scale while
ensuring inclusive e-learning solutions and talking the
digital divide.
Crucial time for the education sector as well as for
academic libraries.
