2. What is communication?
“Communication refers to the act, by one or
more persons, of sending and receiving
messages that are distorted by noise, occur
within a context, have some effect, and provide
some opportunity for feedback”

4. • The Sender is the source of the message.
• He/She has information He/She wants the
receiver to know.
• The sender is the primary reason why a message
is understood or not.

5. Encoding
• Encoding is the process that takes an idea and uses
different methods to convey message.
• Some factors that the speaker will use to influence the
message are:
1. Social System
2. Culture
3. Gender influences
4. Others
Noise is anything that can
disrupt or distort the
communication process.
Noise is able to appear at any point of the communication process.
6. Message
• The Content in a message.
• Idea that the sender wants the receiver
to know.
• Message is made up of few things:
1. Composition
2. Sentence structure
3. Grammar
4. Others
7. Channel
• The way the message is past to receiver.
• The channel of communication are done
through our senses:
1. Sight
2. Sound
3. Touch
4. Taste
5. Smell
8. Receiver
• Audience of the message.
• Responsible to listen and provide feedback
to the sender.
9. Decoding
• The ability of the receiver to translate the message.
• The object is for the receiver to understand the message
the way the sender intended for the receiver to understand it.
• The receiver uses the same resources the sender used to understand
the message. They are:
1. Social system
2. Culture
3. Gender influences
4. Others
10. • Receiver responds to sender.
• Receiver tells the sender how accurately
they decoded the message. This allows the
sender to know how the message was taken,
and if the message was understood in the way
the sender intended the message to mean.
11. This model, Model of Communication, explains
how a message is sent from a sender to a receiver,
if it was understood as intended, and the problems
that can effect the understanding.
Through correct use of this model at all points,
communication between people will be
understood.
