• VISY Board reported high injury rates across their sites
– specifically musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
• Carole Park (QLD) was identified as a particularly
high risk site with regards to manual handling.
– Ageing workforce
– High degree of manual labour for unskilled workforce
• VISY board had previously explored a range of initiatives
to address the high incidence of MSDs. Ongoing
challenges were:
• Accessing all employees for training
• Achieving behavioural change following training
THE PROBLEM

MYViSAFE PILOT PROGRAM FINDINGS
• Significant improvement in the movement risk profile at
the Carole Park site – most notable in the Tanabe area.
With a significant trend towards a low to medium movement
risk profile at 12 weeks across all areas.
• Very positive employee feedback regarding their experience
using the myViSafe technology and its impact on safety.
• Technology integrated effectively into their manual
handling strategy – where onsite Manual Handling Champions
provided immediate and timely feedback using myViSafe.

NEXT STEPS FOR VISY
• The results of the pilot program
suggest that the myViSafe
technology was successful in
achieving the project aims and
complementing existing manual
handling strategies at the VISY
Board, Carole Park site.
• VISY Board are currently working
through a phased rollout of the
myViSafe technology across
their AU/NZ business – where
appropriate, this may then extend
to include other VISY divisions at
a later stage.
