known to man is our solar system. It is made up of nine planets which range in size and make–up. The nine major planets in our solar system are
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. There are also many other minor planets which are also in our solar system,
but they are unimportant compared to the nine major planets. In this paper I will discuss the planets and how they are each unique.

It is called this because it closely resembles the Earth's mass, density and diameter. The only thing different is that Venus " is shrouded in thick clouds

1993). One thing that differs from Earth is that there is no water liquid on the Venusian surface.

Cosmos Summary
Cosmos Carl Sagan was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from the University of Chicago and studied planets and other elements of
space. He was named director of Cornell's Laboratory for Planetary Studies in 1968, and worked with NASA with choosing where the Viking probes
would touch down on Mars. He wrote Cosmos in 1980 as a way of explaining his ideas to the world and furthering the points made in his television
series, also called Cosmos. Cosmos begins out with the Cosmos themselves, and how they came to be discovered by humans living on Earth.
Sagan explains how he once worked at a genetics lab, breeding fruit flies to see how their traits were passed down. He relates it to the evolution of
DNA, and how evolution might very well be unique to Earth. When he talks about the coevolution of plants and animals, he explains how oxygen
made from plants "makes organic molecules fall to pieces" He says, "Despite our fondness for it, it is fundamentally a poison for unprotected organic
matter" (Sagan 29). I thought this was interesting because oxygen is essential for every living thing on Earth. It's what gives us life, but yet at the

On April 21st, 2050, spacecraft Reacher launched out of Houston, Texas. On board was four crew members, each with an extremely important role in
the mission; to create a research facility on Europa, one of Jupiter's many moons. Europa is one of the few places in the entire solar system that

Next to the Sun, the moon is the most recognizable object in the night sky, and is Earth's only natural satellite. It has been estimated that the moon
formed somewhere in the region of 4.45 billion years ago, just a measly 30–50 million years after the origination of the Solar System. While there are
many hypotheses that try to account for the formation of the moon, the one that is backed the greatest is the theory that the moon was formed when a
large mass roughly the size of Mars collided with the newly formed Earth, this sending out planetary material into the same orbit of the Earth. This
material then underwent the process of accretion and formed what we now know as the moon. With modern laser altimetry, scientists have been able
to accurately measure the topography of the moon. The most apparent topographic feature on the moon is located on the southern pole, is referred to
as the Aitken basin, and stretches nearly 1400 miles in diameter. This is the largest crater on the moon and the largest known crater in the Solar
System. Not only is this the widest crater on the moon, but its floor is also the lowest point on the surface of the moon. The dark spots that are visible
with the naked eye are called maria, and they are actually hardened pools of ancient basaltic lava. Next to the maria, the most commonly seen features
of the moon are the impact craters that pepper the entire surface.

world. The NASA budget should be increased.
NASA's current budget is set at 18.7 billion U.S. dollars, which may sound like a lot, but it only accounts for less than 1% of U.S. spending.
NASA, throughout its existence, has only spent a cumulative 790 billions dollars, while we've spent 1.5 trillion dollars on Afghanistan and Iraq in
the last decade. I propose cutting out unnecessary spending to afford an increase in the budget, along with an increase in the standard tax of the
working American. Each individual pays roughly sixty U.S. dollars per year into NASA's budget, and the median household income is
approximately 51,000 U.S. dollars. Assuming that the minimum wage stays the same, I propose an increase to eighty U.S. dollars per citizen who
makes more than 50,000 U.S. dollars per year (18% of current population) , and an increase to one hundred U.S. dollars per citizen who makes more

in the misconception that our solar system is only made up of the sun, as well as eight planets. The California Science Standards state that, "The solar

Extraterrestrial Life Humanity has gazed at the star laden sky since the dawn of time, and one question has been asked with great frequency, are we
alone in the universe? While humankind may never discover bipedal humanoid life forms as portrayed on the movie screen, the chance that
microorganisms, bacteria, or other small forms of extraterrestrial life are greater than many think. This essay will explore what scientists search for,
how they search, present sources who favor the possibility of life, those who deem it unlikely, and if life could exist in non–Earthlike conditions.
What Humanity Searches For The search for extraterrestrial life can be quite Earth–centric, because humanity knows that because we exist here on
Earth, we should begin looking for Earth–like conditions on other known worlds. However, space is unfathomably large, and our solar system contains

Throughout the Movie "The Martian" it seemed like if something could go wrong, it did, and while they all pulled through there was still many
problems faced. In a movie about an astronaut who finds himself accidentally abandoned on Mars after he was thought be be dead during an
emergency take off from a storm, Mark Watney has to ration food, grow crops, make water, and overall must problem solve in every way to get back to
Earth before he runs out of food. During all this, NASA is trying its hardest to get a supplies probe up to Mars as quick as possible to give Watney till
the next Ares mission to survive. The first major problem we see Watney face is after he wakes up, after the rest of the crew left him on Mars, he
is struggled with an injury in his abdomen. He was impaled with an antenna, yet by some luck this antenna sealed the breach in his suit. Apart
from that, when he made it back to the habitat station he had to perform a self surgery or else he would not survive. He solves this problem by
using his knowledge and pulls out the rod, fish out a broken piece of the rod inside him, and staples his wound shut. He cleans himself up and gets
straight to planning how to survive. The next problem we see Watney face is when he is rationing food. He sees that he only has a year's worth of
food to ration yet the next Ares mission wouldn't land for another 4 years. This means he must grow three years worth of food in order to survive till

Alien : Alien, The Search For Aliens?
"Alien" is another word for extraterrestrial. Aliens typically come from other planets and are not considered human. People are curious about aliens
because they want to know if there are other life forms out there and if they can visit their planets. There are organizations that hunt for aliens, they
have different strategies to find them, and there are different theories about aliens so far.
In this search for aliens has been going on for years before the seti institute was founded in 1984. On aug 21st,1924 sixty years before, american
officials promoted a national day of radio silence, urging citizens to not turn on their radios for 5 minutes every hour on the hour. The were asked to
do this so that astronomers could use a powerful radio receiver strapped to a dirigible floating two miles up to listen for any potential radio signals
coming from mars. The red planet aka (mars) was closer to Earth than any other time in this past century, they had heard nothing. The silence is
depressing for alien hunters, but hope is still there.
Our galaxy is a very large place, it's so big that we haven't spent that much time looking for extraterrestrials. If we do happen to find them, how are
we supposed to converse with them. Now if we by chance we happen to meet them in person, talking to them is gonna be a very hard process. If there
are even aliens out there, messages will take more than four years to travel between our planets.

The design of a spacecraft was derived from already successful Chandrayaan–1 and INSAT (Indian National Satellite System). Mixing a design from
previous spacecraft made the project cheaper. The space probe had a mass of 1337 kg (475 kg of dry mass, 15 kg of payloads and 852 kg of fuel).
The structure is of AL and composite fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) sandwich construction. It was developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
(HAL) and delivered in September 2012 to ISRO Satellite Center where the remaining spacecraft subsystems and payload instruments were built onto
the structure. The probe had a bottom ring with a provision for an interface to the PSLV launch vehicle. Additional flow lines and valves were used to

engine at Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC) in the state of Tamil Nadu.1
