WHAT THE NEW YEAR TEACHES ME?
1. WHAT THE NEW YEAR TEACHES ME?
Dr.T.V.Rao MD
New Year is the time at which a new calendar year begins and the calendar's year count is
incremented. In many cultures, the event is celebrated in some manner. The New Year of the
Gregorian calendar, today in worldwide use, falls on 1 January (New Year's Day), as was the case
with both the old Roman calendar and the Julian calendar that succeeded it. The order of months
was January to December in the Old Roman calendar during the reign of King Numa Pompilius in
about 700 BC, according to Plutarch and Macrobius, and has been in continuous use since that time
(Wikipedia). When I was young the arrival of New Year was a great event we used to greet many
friends and wish the superiors with a little flower, or cake, the people in administration and power
must be greeted, with passing of time the value of new year is lost, it continues to be another day in
life makes no difference. However for many the Eve of New Year is interesting. New Year's Eve, with
its emphasis on romance and indulgence, buying few new things to elevate the pleasure to be in
new digital year, might seem like a totally secular celebration. But underneath all that glitter and
sparkle is an ancient holiday with deep spiritual roots. For centuries, and in similar ways, people
have been observing the end of one year and the beginning of another. Remember, January 1st is
just another day. It has no meaning or power except the meaning we choose to give to it. Today
many think there is no difference from one day to other our own choices make difference we can
choose to make softer resolutions for the New Year—resolutions that can still be challenging, yet are
not unrealistic. Why not frame our New Year’s resolutions in terms of hope for a gentler year; for
gaining control of our emotions, for better understanding of the life process and what we can learn
about ourselves as we journey through it? Why not resolve to enter into a future that can be good,
even though it lacks all that we might desire, and offers a hope that we will be at peace with sorrow
and enjoy life even though we are disappointed in many aspects, however we do not realize how
comfortable we are when compared with many deprived in the world. For me New year is to freshen
up to future life challenges, as life is not easier to live than in the past, we are heading to a society
where you are only important to self and not to many While each culture's New Year celebration has
its own flavour, there are certain common themes. The period leading up to New Year's Day is a time
for setting things straight: a thorough remembering those helped you returning borrowed objects,
not to repeat the mistakes of the yesteryears, reflecting on one's shortcomings, mending quarrels,
giving alms, which means brining a little happiness in the people placed in your surroundings. Just
try to read or buy a book on self-motivation as positive thinking in spite of negative challenges can
make you a better accepted person in the circumstance we live. On searching the World Wide Web I
found a best idea to NEW YEAR EVE CAN bE a promise that you make to yourself to start doing
something good or stop doing something bad on the first day of the year, many people think if you
act good pious we will continue to do so in the rest of the year. Two quotes really impresses me one
Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” ― Oprah Winfrey another quote
“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.” ― Brad Paisley. We all
teacher can progress in life with the great words and rewrite our performance with the quote For
last year's words belong to last year's language And next year's words await another voice. And to
make an end is to make a beginning." ― T.S. Eliot, every stage in life has its own beauty. Do not
trust your past in cribbing, do not tarnish your present in ignorance, never spoil pollute your future
with worries. . And continue to be good in every day to learn and innovate the world with better
creativity, as the world is in need of new innovators and every Student of ours wishes to have place
to live with better future? However every New Year eve reminds of one valuable thought one more
2. year is gone what are the plans are for the NEW YEAR
I WISH ALL FRIENDS A GREAT NEW YEAR AND PRAYING FOR MANY GOOD THINGS HAPPEN IN
EVERYONES LIFE
