The Task

As part of your Literacy connection in this unit you have been Writing to Entertain
and we have been exploring historical fiction/mythology as a text form.

Your task is to transform your published historical fiction/myth into the format of a
digital story that will be presented to the class and published onto our class blog.

The Process

   1. Watch a variety of digital stories online. Your teacher will provide these to
      you.
   2. Locate a variety of images that will match your story. Remember to cite these
images. Include only images that are licensed for your use.
   3. Locate music that you can use in the background (http://freeplaymusic.com/)
   4. Use your piece of narrative writing to create a storyboard for a 2-3 minute
      digital story. Plan well.
   5. Tell your story, matching it with your images and music.
   6. You will use Keynote to create your digital story. We will then transfer your
      published copy into a podcast.
The Assessment

You submitted a complete and accurate storyboard that was used in the planning ___
process

The organizational features of your narrative are well developed (orientation, ___
complication, series of events, resolution)

The images you used are meaningful to the story, creating a distinct atmosphere ___
that matches the theme. The images you used allow your audience to have a deeper
understanding of the story

Music used stirs an emotional connection to the storyline and allows the audience to ___
have a deeper understanding of the story

Voice quality is clear and consistently audible through the presentation ___

The story is told with exactly the right amount of detail throughout. Your storytelling ___
is paced appropriately and matches the images/music of your narrative.

The digital story is a minimum of 2 minutes. ___

Electronic resources are cited ___
